This group has promoted Blue Grey cattle at the Royal Highland Show & Great Yorkshire Show over the last number of years supported by the Leader Project. Funding is now no longer available but it is hoped that the Group can carry on with its work and would therefore appreciate donations from anyone who wishes to contribute and this can be done through the H&H office on sale day.

Sold under the Conditions of Sale of the Institute of Auctioneers and Appraisers in Scotland as displayed in the mart and to the following Special Conditions (in so far as they conflict, the Special Conditions shall prevail). HEIFERS PROVING IN-CALF A heifer which is not described as having been running with the bull or as having been served, or as being in calf, or as a springer, is warranted as not being in calf. In the event of any heifer proving otherwise, the Vendor, at his option, will either refund to the purchaser 25% of the purchase price or will accept the return of the heifer and pay the carriage to and from the purchasers premises and VS expenses, and also keep at the rates stated below, provided that:(a) The purchaser reports the matter to the Auctioneer as soon as the condition of the animal is noticed and (b) It is understood that no complaint will be entertained unless it has been intimated before the heifer calves (if a full term calf) and within 6 calendar months of the day of sale and if confirmed in writing within 5 days thereafter. SUCKLED CALVES In the case of heifers sold at recognised Suckler Calf Sales and heifers sold at other sales but stated to be Suckled Calves, this condition will be amended as follows:(a) The period will be 7 months (& 5 days) instead of 6 months. (b) The percentage refund will be 50% instead of 25%. KEEP will be charged at the following rate: (a) For the period 1st May to 31st October the rate will be ÂŁ1.00p per day (b) For the period 1st November to 30th April the rate for will be ÂŁ2.00 per day SALE ORDER NOTICE Any Lot or Lots which are not forward, or the owner is not present when the sale order time is reached, such Lot or Lots will be passed over and put through the ring at the end of the sale. TB Testing: Animals over 42 days of age and on a 12 month test holding or from holdings which require pre-movement testing (PRMT) MUST to be tested within 60 days of the sale and a respective certificate provided to the Auctioneers. The testing interval will be displayed at the point of sale by numbers 1, 4 or 4s. The information is given for guidance only
