Smart Watches

Introduction

a smartwatch or not really a smartwatch but a "bluetooth remote cum display cum headset for the smartphone which ll cost less than Rs 500(Indian) in contrast the average price of a smartwatch is approx Rs 12,000 in India also the price of a nice wired earphone is Rs 500+.

The concept has 2 major parts the app and the watch.(*i ll be seeking help for the app part)

The Watch

the remote watch display concept is based on an ATmega328-PU is 8 Bit AVR Microcontroller(Rs 70) and it uses recycled Nokia 5110 84*48 dot matrix display (Rs 250), stereo speakers (Rs 10 *2). Rx (Rf receiver with a variable capacitor) and and a Tx(variable transmitter) antenna (Rs 40 approx), 3 or 4 touch-sensitive capacitive buttons (Rs 30), a small battery pack (Rs30) and a microphone (Rs 10) and i think somewhere around Rs50 per piece 3d printed or injection molded outer shell.

The App

The app is a .HTML or .java or bunch of .JPEG files which keeps updating with the phone. Its like an one page operating system. A rectangle of 84*48 keeps navigating on the page based on the Bluetooth touch inputs and sends whatever falls under the rectangle as bluetooth display information with a speed of 8fps.

how it works?

the idea is; instead of using a bluetooth module, a display driver, a sound driver and processing unit which is the case for a regular smartwatch, i am planning to use only one microcontroller which ll receive all the data/output from the Rx(from the phone as variable Rf signal) like any other Bluetooth device(display-3kb/s*8 refresh/s + stereo sound-32kb/s < 80kb/s) and ll send all the data/input from Tx as variable Tf signal (microphone-32kb/s + touch128bit*3 < 80kb/s ).

All the processing is done in the smartphone as an Bluetooth java app. The app sends refreshed screenshots (84*48*8 bits/sec of information) and controls the media app which sends stereo sound(32kb/sec). The app is controlled with 3 or 4 variable switch present the watch, say touchpad(128*4bits/sec) and Google voice commands and call sound is received with a Microphone (32kb/sec).

I have attached images of product and interface evolution, the app(interface) and how it works, the internal parts almost up to transistor and resistor level. All of these i can get with in 3 days in india. The first prototype also might cost under Rs600.
