This 60,000 sf studio project allowed us to focus on mixed-use development. The first two floors are for public access and have a clear and understandable geometry. However, the residential units are very unique from each other to make way to two important features. An abundant amount of skylights and unique communal spaces that offer varying views of Atlanta. The square footage of the floor plates after the second level starts to decrease
to allow in more light from above through very subtle and carefully placed openings. The program in the mixeduse portion of the building contains an affordable grocery store, a restaurant that uses the store’s products, and a library. The building is designed to serve the community because there is a food desert and limited access to a library due to the highway. Lightfall is designed with versatility in mind for any future modifications and additions.

Between the new mixed-use building and existing apartments lies a public plaza and a bridge leading to the restaurant. Further north, a small, private courtyard is for current residents, providing a more secluded outdoor space and potential connectivity to future eastern developments.

02 The Town Underground (GeorgiaInstitute ofTechnology)
The project sits on land once occupied by the Cherokee, displaced by settlers who built New Manchester Mill using enslaved labor. The program of the project is a wellness center which focuses on aquatic elements like baths and pools, positioning it along Sweetwater Creek to connect visitors with the site’s water feature. The center comprises various small spaces along a central northwest-southeast axis, with rooms oriented to maximize natural light and
create engaging views. The covered circulation area serves as a roof and floor, reflecting the site's elevation changes and giving a feeling of being underground. Wood and slate were used to blend with nature, contrasting the serene interiors with the outside environment. The center functions as a wellness retreat while subtly serving as a memorial, inviting visitors to relax, reflect, or both.
The concept revolved around finding brief openings along the central axis to connect the visitor with nature.

03 DC Infrastructure Academy at Spingarn High School (BELLArchitects)
This building was a public high school originally built in 1949. The objective was to adaptively reuse the building to house a vocational school focused on infrastructure. As preservation architects, we were also keen on keeping the historic qualities of the building while matching modern standard. I was heavily involved during the schematic design phase all the way to the current construction drawings.
My main role in this project was to create diagrams, drawings, and renderings. I actively communicated with various engineers and consultants to address and resolve any issues one would expect in a project of this scale. I was responsible for creating all of the graphics that you’ll see in this portfolio, including the one above. While I worked independently on the drawings and visuals, there were brief moments of collaboration on some.
