Early start. To dead of night.
Days hurt. Heart bursts. Fast. Slow. We’re jumbled. You grow.
The life before you, we barely know. The days are long, but the years are wee.
Two, Plus one: We three.

Two Plus One (2022), explores the cherished experience of new motherhood within a family unit of 3. The light, the love, the darkness and the re-imagination of life.
For all of a sudden, your heart exists outside of your body.
For the tears, and the fears, the milk and the meltdowns. For the changing of nappies and career-plans henceforth.
Forever, we are changed.
A story of three. 3 Textiles. 3 Raw Walnut Ink Blends. 3 Forms. 3 Stitch types.
PROCESS + PROVENANCE
Materials and method of make.
TEXTILE
1 Pure linen and 2 weight cottons of dead-stock, salvage and industry waste origin.
INK
Raw walnut ink dyes in 3 separate concentrations weave their story through your piece.
Layers of pre-loved linen interweave and shadow each other, creating purposeful negative spaces and new forms within. Layer upon layer of acrylic paint and ‘weathering’ techniques set the layers in solid formation. An eventual haptic ‘tapestry’ is formed. FORM
3 Geometric forms, softened with curves and inspired by ceramic vessels: Emily, Jono and Finley.
STITCH FRAME
3 varying stitch forms creating one continues line, interchanging and interlinking all forms. A family bond, never to be broken.
FSC certified walnut, with oak spline detail, crafted by hand. For you.
