1) Site Analysis
Site : Under Shyamal Flyover, Ahemedabad
Introduction :-
The site is under Shyamal Mukherji Flyover. It has access of Service Road from two sides. The area around our site is too densed and it’s mostly mixed used typology. Green Areas are very less in number around our site.
The main landmarks around our site are Gravitas, Pashwar school, Ganesh udyog and Mahadev temple. The main sources of noise around our site are Railway crossing, near by Street vendors and Road traffic. The activities happening under the flyover are Construction workers, Street Vendors, Municipality Hospital, Municipilaity Gym, Temple on side walk and visitors.

First came the Vastrapur Railway Track in the neighbourhood, and then came the Shyamal Flyover. Many Encroachments are coming on the roads. The Ratio of Built and Unbuilt is not optimum.
Few Buildings like Library, Senior Citizen Park, Municipality Hospital, Municiplaity Gym and Municipality Toilets are built in the devoid spaces under the shyamal Flyover next to our site.

Acivities happening under the Flyover
Different Activities cater to different user groups under this Flyover. First user group is of encroachers who lives in the devoid spaces under the flyover because of unemployment. Second user group is of Street Vendors around our site. Vendors are there because of absence of proper defined spaces for them.
Next user group is Women, as Women in this neighbourhood uses Municipality Gym and Hospitals in the afternoon.Other user group is Construction Workers who gather around Railway Tracks during their peak hours because of presence of Construction Worker point in this area.

2) User Tribe Analysis
Introduction :-
The site is under Shyamal Mukherji Flyover. It has access of Ring Road from two sides. Before the flyover, the Construction Workers point was across the railway track. But after the construction of this bridgethe point shifted under it
The Construction Workers hours peaks at 7am to 10am in the morningDuring those hoursthis area acts as a point to hire workers for construction activities for over 20 years now.
These Workers come from Memenagar, Rajiv Nagar, Vastrapur, UP, MP and Bihar mostlySome of them lives under the flyoverBoth Men and Women work as Labourers to meet their daily needsBut then who’s looking after their Children?

3) Program Development
Casestudy :-
Footpath Labour School, Ahmedabad
Timings: 7:30 TO 9:30 PM
It’s Coaching Centre for Children from age group 8-14. It has been successfully running for over 25 years. Around 80 Children comes here everyday for studying.
Construction Worker’s children are generally weak at studies. These children lives around 2 km radius and are able to come and go on their own. These Children are not dependent on their parents. They also get free dinner everynight after class. They had total 10 blackboards and 6 teachers.
