Committee Chair

To the Residents of Locust Lake Village:

Hello again. Here is the latest update on roads. At our February meeting, we discussed the following issues; drainage plan, feedback on attendance of a drop-in session, getting bids, coating of Mountain View.

We are addressing our drainage issues in two ways: 1) as problems occur, we are remedying them. 2) We had an Engineering study performed in 2018. It evaluated existing drainage and proposed new drainage to help remove runoff waters from the community. The plan was accepted and was starting to be enacted. It was given a Project number, #2803. For some reason, it was never completed. At our committee meeting, it was reintroduced, discussed, and placed in the hands of our Maintenance department to complete. Our Maintenance Manager will evaluate all existing swales, pertaining to this project (#2803), and they will be cleaned/restored as necessary and then the new/proposed swales will be added.

We had our Community Manager; Maintenance Manager and one other Maintenance person attend a virtual training presentation. This was a suggestion given to us by a Resident. The presentation was a virtual drop in given on 2/3/2022.

We have received some pricing from contractors, but we need to follow our financial rules and also need more information from these contractors. Hopefully we are in time to get our targeted roads completed this summer. The March meeting was cancelled due to weather conditions.
