An ordinary Saturday afternoon gathered around a large table at Erenköy Spring Center. There is excitement in the environment. A cork mattress is laid out in the middle, and wooden squares with small and large colored pieces are lined on it. There are more than 20 people gathered around him, some of them are curiously examining the wooden pieces, some of them are standing back timidly, some of them move the woods as if they know very well what they are doing, approach and look inside, step back and argue with others, and reach for a piece again and make an arrangement. doing.

This is a board game that has been played every Saturday afternoon at the Spring Center since last year. It is said that the hospital will be rebuilt, and even last year, an architectural project competition was held for it, and this game is played to reveal different views, share ideas and enable new information production for the project as the project is implemented step by step.

It is very fun and exciting to participate because the game yields different results every time, it allows you to meet different people and most interestingly, the hospital is built in a way that reflects our discussions in the game in the last months of the game.

Shades of White is mainly about the continuity and the fluidity of the experience. The main theme as ascience center the main facilities of the building is the main/temporary exhibition hall and theplanetarium is readable from outside and orientation of secondary utility zones was arranged accordingto them. The form of the building is organized from 4 main blocks (main/temporal exhibition halls,planetarium classroom, and cafeteria).

The science center has 5 floors, 2 underground where one of them for car, another one for trucks andbuses for expedition trips. The ground floor is continuous form entrance to auditorium, hall, andclasses. The last 2 floors are for classrooms, administrations, and labs. Passengers have options forentrance from the basement if has cars, or from the ground floor.

The main noise sources (HVAC, electric generators, water treatment) are located in the basement andwith extra technical construction as floating floor and box in the box, were isolated fromnoise-sensitive areas of the building. Also, large volume and noise generating areas like an entranceand exhibition halls have perforated GFRC panels in finishing for noise absorption.From an aesthetic point of view building mainly has a minimalist color palette where mainly consistsof SHADES OF WHITE.

-Memorial Place as a Landscape Infrastructure In addition to not forgetting the epidemics and commemorating the health workers, the proposed design for the commemoration site aims to provide an infrastructure where the ecosystem can renew itself, with the awareness of many interrelated negativities such as the climate crisis, the destruction of the countryside, deforestation, the inability to provide healthy living and hygienic conditions in the cities. . The project aims to develop the existing potential of the area while preserving it. The design does not recommend removing or moving any existing trees in the field. The service road, commemoration valley and service structure in the program were designed by preserving the existing trees. The service structure located in the north of the park is a part of the memorial valley, and a holistic setup was designed with the design.

The design adopts the idea of ​​“life-centrism”, that is, of being able to live together with all living things, instead of “anthropocentrism”. The landscape approach is to transform the landscape into an infrastructure that allows rain harvesting, does not create an ecological barrier, and ensures the continuity of the green infrastructure, rather than creating a landscape setup in the proposed park. The surface runoff waters accumulated on the roofs of the surrounding structures and on the existing ground are gradually filtered in the biological treatment pools of the memorial valley and transferred to the water collection channel located behind the memorial wall. This canal also serves as a water reservoir, meeting the irrigation need of the vegetation in all four seasons. The (open system) bioswale channel located in the west of the park contributes to the park ecosystem as a secondary system that collects rainwater. There are two underground water tanks - mechanical room structure in the park. All systems contribute to meeting the irrigation needs of the park in all four seasons.

Metro.....HOME! / Why is it always the same? / Metro - it takes everybody out of the city and imprisons them in their own darkness.

Communication between the world and the sun, the most ancient friendship, ishampered by human and human productions. New urbanization methods andarchitectural researches should be developed to keep this communicationconstant. Along with SunCity, these new methods are continually researchedand produced. The game raises awareness of the importance of daylight forthe players.The city is a mutualist way of life.

Each building has the right to receivesufficient light and protects the right of other buildings’ daylight accessibility.The buildings keep the general interest of the city in their interest.Suncity is a ‘massively multiplayer online / real-time strategy game’ that ischallenging the players with creating cities and architectural forms to accessequal daylight for cities against the rapid population growth andurbanization. The game experiments the dynamics of planning and architecture tothe players and raise awareness about the light rights of buildings in the city.Each game is resulting in primitive design proposals of future city scenarios witha unique combination of forms.

Today, the countryside is tried to be controlled, oppressed, and despised by the city. The reasons for urban hegemony is centralized power/ control and the concentration of knowledge production in cities.The city’s efforts to control the countryside also disrupt the settled life culture of the countryside and turn it into an alienated ‘’living’’ space. It is no longer rural, but a symbiotic space between rural and urban.

- For those who run away from the city, it is not the old countryside that they (don’t) know/ remember.

- Nor is the village where they passes their childhood for those who live there. Her memories are fragmented and scattered throughout the village in fragments or they just continues to live in the family house, inside the grandmothers chest.

Cities kill villages for their ideals. They position themselves as the ‘’developed’’ / ‘’pioneer’’ and try to ‘’develop’’ the villages on that axis. Today, this ‘’development’’ is established / measured through technology, but without being aware of it, cities become slaves to technology. In the reflection of this practice to the village, the hegemon city applies a development plan that is stereotypical to the villages. Since these plans are generally considered from the upper scale, they damage the existing fabric of the villages, but mainly ignored. The reasons for urban hegemony is centralized power/control and the concentration of knowledge production in cities.

Centralized power/control must be dispersed to the countryside in order to break this system and bring the countryside to its natural state.

The seasonal festival and bazaar is settled at the entrance of the village. It is periodically established as a festival or a bazaar and becomes one of the main connection points of the village. During the festival periods, foreigners have cultural interactions with locals as a result of various activities. Two types of bazaar are established in different periods. First, a local bazaar is established weekly to meet the weekly needs of the villagers. The second is the establishment of the regional bazaar. This type of bazaar is set up twice a year for a few days, and its main purpose is both for the locals to sell out their products and for seed exchange.

The second main meeting point of the village is the Pharmaceutical and herbal production | Cooperative. It consists of 3 buildings and their intermediate spaces, based on the fact that private production can be observed with certain limits, collective production can be made and architectural structures are constantly shaped according to the request and function. In the special production area, medicines are mainly prepared from plants that are one of the floral potentials of Şile. At the intersection of the private and collective production space, herbs and herbal products collected from the Şile are produced by the villagers.

The main component of the rebellion is Biolab and the various programs around it. The building consists of two regions/floors. the first / ground floor is semi-open, constantly changing, and used to educate the villagers. Its proximity to primary school, middle school, and high school in Ahmetli strengthen such interactions. On the extension of the ground floor, there is a large agricultural area for the researchers to do various agricultural activities with the villagers. On the upper floor, there are laboratories where researchers can conduct various experiments, in addition to the information they have obtained from the village.

The common kitchen is one of the structures where villagers interact the most. In daily life, it becomes one of the areas where the villagers make collective production, and during the festival periods, foreigners establish the most sincere bonds with the villagers. It turns into a place where the most cultural interaction takes place and as a result, they exchange their cultural knowledge.
