DESIGN BRIEF:

A HEALTHCARE CENTRE WERE TO BE DESIGNED IN AN SITE CLOSE TO THE PROXIMITY OF SRIPERUMBUDUR WITH IN & OUT PATIENT WARDS AN APPROXIMATELY 20 HEALTHCARE BEDS.

TNCDBR RULES AND REGULATIONS WERE TO BE FOLLOWED

THE COLOR SCHEME USED ARE BLUE AND GREY SCALE AS COLOR COMBINATION.

CALMING AND SOOTHING ATMOSPHERE:

BLUE IS OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH FEELINGS OF CALMNESS, TRANQUILITY, AND RELAXATION. IT CAN HELP CREATE A SOOTHING ENVIRONMENT IN HOSPITAL SETTINGS AND THE SPACES WHERE PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. GREY ACCENTS COMPLEMENT THE BLUE TONES AND ADD DEPTH TO THE OVERALL DESIGN.

CONNECTION TO NATURE:

BLUE IS OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH NATURAL ELEMENTS SUCH AS WATER AND SKY, EVOKING A SENSE OF CALMNESS AND SERENITY. BY INCORPORATING BLUE TONES INTO THE FACADE, THE HOSPITAL CAN CREATE A CONNECTION TO NATURE AND PROMOTE A HEALING ENVIRONMENT. THIS CAN BE PARTICULARLY RELEVANT IN HEALTHCARE SETTINGS WHERE A SENSE OF TRANQUILITY IS BENEFICIAL FOR PATIENTS.

VISUAL APPEAL AND AESTHETICS:

BEING ABLE TO ENJOY OUTDOOR VIEWS AND FRESH AIR IN A SITOUT AREA CAN IMPROVE MOOD, PROVIDE A SENSE OF SERENITY, AND CREATE A MORE PLEASANT EXPERIENCE FOR PATIENTS AND VISITORS. SITOUT SPACES OFFER A PLACE FOR PATIENTS, VISITORS, AND STAFF TO TAKE A BREAK, UNWIND, AND RELAX.

THIS CAN RESULT IN ENERGY SAVINGS AND A MORE COMFORTABLE AND SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT. THEY CAN ALSO HELP IN REDUCING NOISE TRANSMISSION. DESIGN BRIEF:

THE DESIGN BRIEF WAS TO DESIGN A RESIDENTIAL HOUSING CLUSTER FOR THE ECONOMICALLY WEAKEAR SECTION WITH EACH UNIT NOT MORE THAN 35 SQM. IN A SITE AREA OF 4060.65 SQM WE WERE SUPPOSED TO ACHIEVE AROUND 150 UNITS. REGULATIONS FROM TNCDBR WERE TO BE FOLLOWED AND A MINIMUM OF 30% GREENSPACE WAS TO BE ALLOTED IN SITE.

PATHWAYS AND SEATING AREAS:

DESIGN PATHWAYS AND SEATING AREAS THROUGHOUT THE LANDSCAPE TO ENCOURAGE RESIDENTS TO EXPLORE AND INTERACT WITH NATURE. USE MATERIALS LIKE GRAVEL OR PAVERS FOR PATHWAYS AND INCLUDE BENCHES, SEATING WALLS, OR OUTDOOR FURNITURE TO PROVIDE RESTING SPOTS AND GATHERING SPACES.

EFFICIENT VEHICULAR CIRCULATION:

TO FACILITATE SMOOTH TRAFFIC FLOW WITHIN THE APARTMENT COMPLEX, I HAVE INCORPORATED WIDE DRIVEWAYS, WELL-PLANNED PARKING AREAS, AND SEPARATE ENTRY AND EXIT POINTS. THE DESIGN PRIORITIZES THE SAFETY AND CONVENIENCE FOR BOTH PEDESTRIANS AND VEHICLES. GIVEN THE IMPORTANCE OF PARKING, I HAVE ALLOCATED SUFFICIENT PARKING SPACES FOR RESIDENTS.

CLIMATE-RESPONSE:

MADURAI'S CLIMATE IS CHARACTERIZED BY HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS FOR MOST OF THE YEAR. TO ENSURE THERMAL COMFORT, I HAVE INCORPORATED FEATURES SUCH AS ADEQUATE SHADING, NATURAL VENTILATION, INSULATION, SITOUTS AND BREAKOUT SPACES.

GREEN SPACES AND OPEN AREAS:

RECOGNIZING THE IMPORTANCE OF GREENERY AND OPEN SPACES, I HAVE INTEGRATED LANDSCAPED GARDENS AND SITOUT AREAS WITHIN THE APARTMENT COMPLEX. THESE SPACES PROVIDE RESIDENTS WITH AREAS FOR RELAXATION, RECREATION, AND SOCIAL INTERACTION. THE INCLUSION OF TREES, SHRUBS, AND GREENERY NOT ONLY ENHANCES THE AESTHETICS BUT ALSO IMPROVES AIR QUALITY AND PROVIDES A SENSE OF WELL-BEING.

SOLAR REFLECTANCE:

WHITE ROOFING TILES HAVE HIGH SOLAR REFLECTANCE, MEANING THEY REFLECT A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THE SUN'S ENERGY INSTEAD OF ABSORBING IT. THIS HELPS IN REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF HEAT TRANSFERRED TO THE BUILDING, KEEPING THE INTERIOR SPACES COOLER AND REDUCING THE NEED FOR EXCESSIVE AIR CONDITIONING.

MARIGOLDS, HIBISCUS, AND CRAPE MYRTLE ARE SOME CHOICES THAT THRIVE IN THE MADURAI REGION. THESE AREAS CAN PROVIDE A REFRESHING ENVIRONMENT, PROMOTE A SENSE OF WELL-BEING, AND ALSO SERVE AS GATHERING SPOTS FOR THE COMMUNITY.

PATHWAY AND DRIVEWAY TILES:

INTERLOCKING BRICK PAVEMENTS ARE KNOWN FOR THEIR STRENGTH AND DURABILITY. THEY CAN WITHSTAND HEAVY LOADS, RESIST CRACKING, AND HAVE A LONGER LIFESPAN COMPARED TO TRADITIONAL ASPHALT OR CONCRETE PAVEMENTS. IT CAN BE A COST-EFFECTIVE CHOICE IN THE LONG RUN. GLAZED WINDOWS, ON THE OTHER HAND, CAN ADD A TOUCH OF MODERNITY AND SOPHISTICATION TO THE BUILDING DESIGN, CREATING A PLEASING CONTRAST WITH THE BRICKWORK. THESE BRICKS NOT ONLY CONTRIBUTE TO THE AFFORDABILITY OF THE PROJECT BUT ALSO PROVIDE DURABILITY AND MINIMAL MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS. FURTHERMORE, THE INCORPORATION OF INTERLOCKING BRICK PAVEMENTS IN THE OUTDOOR SPACES ADDS VISUAL APPEAL, ENHANCES SAFETY, AND PROMOTES EFFICIENT STORMWATER MANAGEMENT.

Iftekhar Ahsan along with his friend Chris Chen purchased the old and dilapidated threestoreyed building , which was constructed in 1926, almost four years ago. The building is a classic example of the golden era of Calcutta's (now Kolkata) architecture.

Gohar Mahal is a magnificent architectural edifice of Bhopal. It is a perfect blend of Mughal and Hindu style of architecture. A majestic look is still retained by the archways of the palace. It is considered as an architectural gem of the state. This palace is one of the finest examples of archeological excellence of past era.

The naming convention of this Mahal came from her name. This palace is a symbol of communal harmony. Qudisiya Begum was a great admirer of art and architecture. The interior and exterior of the palace is really stunning with its designs, decorations and religious patterns.

GOHAR MA

Gohar Mahal was built in a successful man by Qudisiya Begum in 1820 on the banks o the Upper Lake in Bhopal. She is the first woman ruler of Bhopal. She is popularly known as Gohar Begum. In 18 19, she successfully ascended the throne of the erstwhile princely state after her husband assassination. In 19th century, she was an unprejudiced woman ruler who directly ro to power without any strug gle.

It is situated in Bhopal, alongside the seren Upper Lake where an airy hall overlooks th glimmering lake. It is located near the Shaukat Mahal and is accessible by all mea of transportation. It is precisely situated on VIP Road, Chowki Talaiya in Peer Gate Area This place will leave you enthralled with its architectural charm and will impress you w its exhibition of the finesses craftsmanship the Nawabi rule.

HAL , BHOPAL

The majestic Gohar Mahal, besides being a top tourist attraction of Bho pal, is a sought-after place for holding different cultural events, art exhibitions and fairs in the city. With time, it has lost its old-world charm, but efforts are being made through restoration processes to keep its grandeur intact.

However, it is being carefully restored and preser ved to bring back its older grace. An airy hall overlooks the glimmer ing lake while what has remained of the ancient paintings and the intricate woodwork mirror the architectural wonder of the palace. The surrounding of the palace is beautifully landscaped with lawns and flower gardens. The Mahal also has a lot of doors and passages. From the terrace, you can get a stunning view of the Upper Lake. To an extent, the palace is in ruins. But attempts are being made to renovate and restore it to its original splendor. Again, a lot of sales and exhibitions displaying handloom, ethnicity, and artworks are conducted on the premises which are generally wellattended, especially in September.

The Gohar Mahal is a three-storied structure which is a magnificent example of the craftsmanship of the bygone era. Currently maintained by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department, the palace is known for its stunning exteriors and interiors, featuring beautiful decorations and designs.

It features two courtyards as well as beautiful landscaped flower gardens and lawns. The first courtyard is called Diwan-eAam and the second one is called Diwan-iKhas. However, both these courtyards have been closed for public viewing.
