commitment to promote Arts, Culture and Tourism, Obaseki maintained that the museum will attract tourists from far and near to view Benin artefacts and have an experience of the history and rich cultural heritage of Edo people. News Appeal Court reinstates Edo Commission 13 years after, orders completion of tenure

BENIN CITY- The Court of Appeal, Benin Division, on Tuesday set aside the dissolution of the Edo State Law Review Commission for the past 13 years, over failure to follow due process. The Commission was dissolved in 2008 by the administration of Governor Adams Oshiomhole. But the court, in a unanimous judgment, ordered that members of the Commission be reinstated and be allowed to complete their tenure, which should now run from March 25, 2021, the day the judgment was given, to August 25, 2025. In the judgment delivered by the three-man panel and read by Justice Biobele Abraham Georgewill, with Justices Oyebisi Omoleye

and Dr. Fredrick Oho as members, the appellate court held that the Adams O s h i o m h o l e - l e d administration did not follow the laid down procedure in dissolving the commission. The appellants, in the suit No B/375/OS/2009, were identified as, Elder Jonathan Aghimien (SAN), T. E. Ogbeide-Ihama and Edward Aigbanbe, while the Governor of Edo State, the Attorney General and the State House of Assembly were the respondents. Reports had it that the appellants challenged the ruling of Justice Nogi Aifuwa Imoukhuede of state High Court in which he dismissed the claims of the appellants for being statute barred.

In his ruling, Justice Georgewill declared, “the dissolution of the Edo State Law Review Commission and consequent termination of the appointments of the Appellants on 24/11/2008, without due compliance with the provisions of the Revised Edition Law of Edo State 2001, by the 1st Respondent, the then Executive Governor of Edo State is null, void and of no effect whatsoever.” The court set aside the letter issued by the then Secretary to State Government (SSG) on behalf of the state Governor, saying it was issued without compliance with the provisions of the Revised

Edition Law of Edo State 2001. He said: “An order is hereby given reinstating the Appellants to their aforesaid position as Chairman and members of the Edo State Law Review Commission to serve out the remainder of their five-year tenure. He added that and thereafter from the date of this judgment being 25/3/2021 to 25/8/2025 totalling five year’s in line with Section 7 (1) of the Revised Edition Law 2001 of Edo State, excluding the period from 24/11/2008 to 25/3/2021, unless the Appellants are removed in line with the provision of the Revised Edition law of Edo State of Nigeria 2001"

Women group wants improved reading culture among girl-children

BENIN CITY A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), South South Professional W omen Association (SSPWA), has emphasised the importance of reading culture among the Nigerian children, especially the girl-children. The group’s Coordinator in Edo, Dr Nosa Aladeselu, underscored the need for reading culture among the Nigerian children on Tuesday in Benin at the launch SSPWA’s Book Challenge programme. The event was held at Idia College, Benin, ahead of this year’s W orld Book Day scheduled for April 23. Aladeselu said books were a great source of knowledge that played very important

role in the lives of students, stressing that children should be helped to imbibe the reading culture early in life. She said the group decided to organise the programme to revive the comatose reading culture in the country. “You will agree with me that in Africa, especially in Nigeria, the reading culture has gone down among our children, hence our resolve to revive the culture among the girlchildren. “With this programme we hope to develop in the southsouth children, especially our girl-children, the habit of reading and exploring the joy

of reading. “It will also give our target beneficiaries the opportunity to appreciate the dynamism of books and how they can impact their lives for the better,” she said. According to her, the scripts will be handed to an independent assessor while the scores and awards will be announced on April 24, as part of SSPWA’s activities to mark the 2021 World Book Day. The participated students were drawn from Idia, Itohan and Iyoba Secondary Schools, all in Benin metropolis. Choice Ufua and Jennifer Atiti, who spoke on behalf of other students, expressed delight over the examination, saying it was a pleasant experience. The participants said the exercise would help them improve their vocabularies as well as their reading and writing skills.

News News NAPTIP Reunites 5 Trafficked Children With Parents ABUJA- The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) says it has reunited five children allegedly abducted at different times by a suspected trafficker, with their parents. This is contained in a statement issued by Mrs. Stella Nezan, Head, Press and Public Relations Unit of

the agency, in Abuja on Tuesday. According to the statement, the 32-year-old suspect allegedly abducted and sold the children, ages between four to seven, to unsuspecting women in different parts of the country under the guise of adoption. The statement quoted the agency’s Director-General (D-G), Mrs. Im aan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, while

handing over the children, as calling on parents to ensure adequate protection of their children. According to SulaimanIbrahim, parents must guard their children to avoid incidences of kidnapping, abduction, trafficking and other crim es against humanity. She cautioned the parents on the need to watch their children closely and to avoid

that the suspect, a graduate of Economics from the University of Maiduguri, kidnaps children from Niger state and sells them to families across the country. According to the D-G, the suspect who claimed to be a staff in charge child adoption matters in the Niger State Ministry of Social Development had been into the illicit business since 2016. Sulaiman-Ibrahim said that the suspect usually issue would-be parents with adoption papers purportedly from the Niger State Government. She said the suspect, however, ran out of luck when a sting operation by the agency led to catching him red-handed while helping some ‘clients’ fill their adoption application forms and other papers. The suspect, she said, confessed to have kidnapped and sold six

children under the guise of adoption, claiming all his victims were from Niger state. Sulaiman-Ibrahim stated that the suspect also confessed to have forged some adoption documents he issued to the people he sold the kidnapped children to. According to her, the suspect further confessed that he collected the sum of N100, 000 for each of the children. She, however, said that the suspect had been arraigned in court in accordance with the Traffick ing in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act (TIPPEA), 2015. While promising a diligent prosecution of the suspect, the D-G called on the general public to continue to assist the agency with useful information that could lead to the arrest of child traffickers in the country.

The protesters who carried placards with various inscriptions moved round some major roads in the area calling for justice to prevail over the killing of one of their son, Mr. Dickson Emah who was allegedly murdered on the 18th of January this year. Mr Kehinde Iteshidu, who spoke on behalf of the protesters, said the killing of Dickson Emah is a violation of right to life and gross injustice. Iteshidu said that Eziebe family and the entire

Speaking at the inaugural training of teachers, with the theme: “Waste Education in the 21st Century”, on Tuesday in Ikeja, the Managing Director, LAWMA, Mr Ibrahim Odumboni, said that it was a way of reorientating the younger generations for sustainable environment. Odumboni said that incorporating waste management into the academic curriculum was the most creative way of reshaping the environmental consciousness of the younger generation. He said that the initiative became necessary to mitigate reckless dumping of waste around Lagos, as it was not enough to keep sweeping the streets of Lagos to keep it clean, but to arrest indiscriminate dumping around the city. “W e have decided to

Policeman Dies In Gun Battle With Suspected Kidnappers ABUJA- The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has lost one Insp. Ambi John, attached to Operation Puff Adder, during a gun battle with suspected kidnappers. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the FCT, ASP Mariam Yusuf, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja. Although its industrial sector is underdeveloped due, in part, to inadequate capital for investment and lack of technological know-how, yet the country has prominent industrial concerns such as giant oil industry, iron and steel complexes, steel rolling mills, pharmaceutical companies, food processing industries, car assembly plants and so on. Although most of these industrial concerns are not functioning optimally and many of them depend on imported inputs, they can serve as a basis for industrial take-off if we put our acts together. FAITHFULLY, despite Nigeria’s extensive landmass, growing population, agricultural and industrial potentials, the country remains economically backward, indeed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had at a time classified Nigeria as a heavily indebted country with difficulties in meeting debts servicing obligations; Certainly, these attributes are a minus in our national drive towards socio-economic and political development. This yearning, which grows more urgent by the day, is both legitimate and understandable. After over good decades of hopes raised and hopes dashed, it should not be surprising that Nigerians are wary and weary. HAVING gone through decades in which their faith in their national leadership have been abused and affronted, Nigerians impatience with their leaders and almost total distrust of government functionaries can no longer be- dismissed as mere cynicism AT independence, expectations throughout Nigeria were high and the possibilities for greatness were almost limitless. Considering her vast resources, the country appeared set for good attainments, and to fulfill what the international community saw as her destiny to lead the black race into the main stream of human and technological

civilisation. REGRETABLY, theNigerian economy has hit an all time low. There is massive under utilisation of resources. What is more painful is that our industrial sub-sector is not producing at full capacity. Despite being blessed materially and humanly, our cost of production remains high with growing unemployment Also only crude oil is being seriously tapped, and production was negatively affected by the Niger-Delta crisis, thanks to the amnesty programme which has largely restored the oil sector. Our concern here is that outside oil, resource mobilization efforts are rather disappointing. In our estimation, if the attention given to crude oil had been extended to other minerals and the agricultural sector, definitely. Nigeria would have attained desirable and sustainable development THERE is no doubt that Nigeria is richly endowed. The country has all it takes to become a super power. Somehow, our major problem is the leadership question, which has inevitably impaired our ability to mobilise our resources. However, we believe that our system of government has contributed to this poor leadership problem. Our political structure especially the adoption of a warped federalism has combined effectively to deprive Nigeria of a sound process of getting the right leadership. Even democracy which is expected to produce effective leaders is now, a major political problem in. Nigeria. WE believe that problems such as corruption and inter-ethnic wars and suspicion, which have contributed a lot to the failure of leadership, can be adequately tackled if we .sit down and decide how this country is to be governed. AT independence in 1960, the international community amazed at the economic potentials of Nigeria, was quite certain that if our resources were appropriately managed, Nigeria would one day become the giant of Africa. Unfortunately, due to the failure of our leadership to strategically miobiilize our resources for political, socio economic and cultural advancement of our nation and people, Nigeria is today regarded globally as a sleeping giant, indeed. International China IS Top Threat To U.S. Global Influence Intelligence Agencies:

WASHINGTON — A 27page report released ahead of testimony by the president’s top intelligence officials identifies China as the biggest threat to U.S. global influence. The annual threat assessment report, which summarizes the best assessments of intelligence analysts from across the 18 different agencies within the intelligence community, “focuses on the most direct, serious threats to the United States during the next year,” looking at everything from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and climate change to cyberattacks and technological competitiveness. Senior intelligence officials, including Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, are expected to answer questions about the report this week in front of the House and Senate intelligence committees. Those hearings were temporarily suspended under President Donald Trump after intelligence officials testified about facts that contradicted Trump’s public statements, angering him and leading him to fire his director of national intelligence, Dan Coats. In contrast, President Biden has told his senior intelligence officials he expects them to speak truthfully, regardless of how those assessments affect his political goals. According to the new assessment, released Tuesday morning, Beijing will continue its push to “undercut” Washington’s global influence, despite the intelligence officials’ prediction that Chinese leaders may “seek tactical opportunities to reduce tensions with W ashington when such opportunities suit their interests.” While senior Biden officials, including Secretary of State Tony Blinken and national security adviser Jake Sullivan, have already met with their Chinese counterparts in Alaska, and climate envoy John Kerry plans to travel to China to address climate change, Beijing has not hesitated to engage in public saber-rattling when confronted with U.S. challenges. In the near term, intelligence officials expect China to continue to try to establish global influence through “vaccine diplomacy,” as well as touting its success in responding to the pandemic, though public news reporting indicates Chinese vaccines are far less successful than U.S.-made versions. Intelligence officials also expect Beijing to continue to ratchet up tensions with its neighbors in India, “intimidate rival claimants” in the South China Sea, increase military activity around Taiwan and cooperate with Russia in areas such as the economy and defense. According to the assessment, China will also

“continue the most rapid expansion and platform diversification of its nuclear arsenal,” ignoring attempts at international arms control treaties. In the realm of technology, space and digital espionage and attacks, the intelligence community expects Beijing to remain a top competitor, perhaps even surpassing the U.S. Perhaps most troublingly, beyond Beijing’s use of technology for surveillance and espionage, the intelligence community determined that Beijing “can launch cyber-attacks that, at minimum, can cause temporary disruptions to critical infrastructure within the United States.” The intelligence community also says Moscow, Tehran and Pyongyang would continue to provoke and threaten Washington, each posing unique and evolving threats. As for Moscow, the community assessed that Russian officials will continue to attempt to “undermine U.S. influence” through ongoing influence and cyber operations, though the analysts concluded Moscow likely “does not want a direct conflict with U.S. forces.” Among the threats Russia poses are its ongoing “military modernization” efforts, information warfare, involvement in Syria and Ukraine, expanding and stockpiling its nuclear and other weapons, and continuing to target critical infrastructure through cyber operations, including “underwater cables and industrial control systems” in both the U.S. and allied countries. The report warns that in the coming year, Iran may take risks and escalate tensions, depending on its own assessments of U.S. willingness to respond to attacks and concessions it believes the U.S. might negotiate away in exchange for its return to the Obama-era Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or the Iran nuclear deal. “Iran remains committed to countering US pressure, although Tehran is also wary of becoming involved in a fullblown conflict,” the report says. The report says Iran may not “currently” be undertaking key nuclear weapons development projects, but it is possible that it will continue to ratchet up those activities, particularly “if Tehran does not receive sanctions relief.” Presciently, the report predicts that Iranian officials would consider options including “further enriching uranium up to 60 percent.” The report’s release coincided with an announcement made Tuesday by Iran’s deputy foreign minister, just days after an Israeli-linked attack on Iran’s nuclear enrichment facility in Natanz, that the country would be starting 60 percent enrichment of uranium.

The analysts also concluded that Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, has not changed his view that nuclear weapons are the “ultimate deterrent against foreign intervention,” a long-held conclusion that Trump refused to accept, due to his confidence in his diplomatic outreach with Pyongyang. W hile global terrorism was consistently listed as a top threat in intelligence assessments following the 9/ 11 attacks and al-Qaida’s global growth, the intelligence community assesses that groups like the Islamic State and al-Qaida now have degraded capabilities based on ongoing U.S. and allied counterterrorism operations. The intelligence community noted that domestic violent extremists within the U.S. as well as similar groups in Europe, from white nationalists to neo-Nazis, present “an elevated threat to the United States” that has “ebbed and flowed for decades but has increased since 2015.”

US Army Building Up force in Europe With Two New Units

W ASHINGTON — The U.S. Army is sending two new units to Europe — a Multidomain Task Force and a Theater Fires Command — in a much anticipated move The two formations, making up about 500 soldiers, will arrive “in the coming months,” according to a statement from U.S. Army Europe and Africa released April 13. This will bring 750 family members to U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden in Germany. The MDTF unit is set up to activate on Sept. 16 this year and the Theater Fires Command will activate a month later, the statement notes. The Army has long talked about bringing an MDTF unit to Europe after the first of its kind continues to prove its utility in the Indo-Pacific theater and has been active in high profile exercises there. The first MDTF was set up to experiment with the Army’s warfighting concept Multidomain Operations and now the Army has determined such units will be useful in an operational capacity and has plans to set up an MDTF in the Arctic, a second one in the Pacific and a third one that will deploy where necessary. Overmatch is fleeting: How the US Army’s multidomain task force will help the military remain dominant Gen. Christopher Cavoli, the commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa called earlier this year for such a unit as well as a Theater Fires Command. “The Multi-Domain Task Force-Europe will be comprised of field artillery; composite air and missile defense; intelligence, cyberspace, electronic warfare and space; aviation and a brigade support element.

Former Burkina Faso Leader Compaore Charged In Predecessor Sankara’s Murder OUAGADOUGOU (Reuters) - A Burkina Faso court charged former President Blaise Compaore in absentia on Tuesday in connection with the 1987 murder of then-President Thomas Sankara, one of the most infamous killings in Africa’s post-independence history. Sankara, a charismatic Marxist revolutionary often called “Africa’s Che Guevara”, was assassinated during a coup led by his former friend Compaore. Compaore went on to rule Burkina Faso for 27 years before being ousted in a 2014 uprising and fleeing to Ivory Coast, where he is believed still to live. He has previously denied any involvement in Sankara’s death. A military tribunal on Tuesday charged Compaore with complicity in the assassina-

tion, undermining state security and receiving cadavers, a court document seen by Reuters showed. Compaore’s former righthand man, General Gilbert Diendere, was also charged with several crimes related to Sankara’s killing, including complicity in the assassination. Diendere, who has been in prison since a failed coup in 2015, was in court to hear the charges. He will enter a plea later. Burkina Faso issued an arrest warrant for Compaore in 2015, but Ivory Coast has declined to hand him over. Ex-officer Appeals 20-year Sentence For Killing Black Man COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A white former police officer serving 20 years in prison for killing an unarmed Black man in South Carolina who ran from a traffic stop said his lawyer never told him about a plea offer from prosecutors that could have cut years off his sentence. Former North Charleston police officer Michael Slager is requesting a new sentence in federal court this week, saying he would have taken the deal and that his lawyer was grossly incompetent for not telling him about it. Andy Savage is one of South Carolina’s most accomplished attorneys and at the time was also representing a Black church member whose life was spared in a racist massacre that killed nine people in a Charleston church in 2015, two months after Slager’s arrest. Prosecutors said Savage’s mistake didn’t rise above the very high bar of tossing out Slager’s sentence and added that the

attorney’s defense was excellent in almost every other way. Slager’s sentence is one of the longest given for an onduty shooting in recent years. Slager pleaded guilty to a federal civil rights charge in 2017 for shooting Walter Scott in the back five times on April 4, 2015. Slager had pulled over the 50-year-old Black motorist for a broken brake light when their confrontation was captured on a bystander’s cellphone video that later spread worldwide on social media. In the encounter, the two could be seen tumbling to the ground after Slager hit Scott with a Taser. Authorities said their investigation found Scott got back up and was shot five times in the back from a distance of about 15 feet (5 meters) as he ran from the officer. The shooting itself was captured on video, something Slager didn’t know when he initially told investigators that Scott had charged at him after stealing his Taser.

Slager’s new lawyers aren’t questioning his guilt, just a sentence that according to federal prison records will keep him behind bars until 2033. The two-day virtual federal appeals hearing that started Monday focuses on Slager’s former attorney Andy Savage and whether he did his job on a defense that cost nearly $100,000 in taxpayer money. W hile Slager pleaded guilty to a civil rights offense, the length of his sentence depended on how federal judge David Norton interpreted the shooting. If it was voluntary manslaughter committed in the heat of passion, sentencing guidelines meant Slager might have faced as little as seven years. But Norton ruled the shooting amounted to second-degree murder because Slager fired nine shots total and lied about Scott stealing his Taser. Savage said in court papers he did not tell Slager about the potential plea deal

offered eight months before because of a conversation he had with federal judge David Norton during a private meeting about public funding for Slager’s defense where the judge said this “is not a murder case.” Savage took it to believe Norton was going to rule it was a manslaughter case where the upper end of the sentencing guidelines were eight years in prison, nearly four years less than the lower end of the prosecution’s offer. He recommended Slager plead guilty without the deal. Savage never asked Norton for clarity. In court papers in Slager’s appeal, Norton said he was discussing Slager’s state trial on murder charges which had already taken place and ended in a mistrial. Slager said he first heard about the prosecution’s plea deal when Savage visited him in the federal prison in Colorado where he is serving his sentence. Slager’s state murder charge was dropped as part of the federal plea deal. He could have faced life in prison if convicted of that charge.

Savage has been a lawyer since 1975. He is well known in Charleston for taking on some of the area’s toughest cases — a policeman charged in the death of a city jail inmate or a 17-yearold girl facing the death penalty in the slaying of a smalltown police chief. Savage testified Monday during the virtual hearing held by federal judge Richard Gergel, saying he gave the defense of Slager all he had and he thought Norton considered all the facts before handing down his sentence. Savage said his regret was misreading the case. “I had misinterpreted signals that I received, one of which was from Judge Norton. I wanted Michael to get the best possible outcome, and he didn’t,” Savage said, according to The State newspaper’s coverage of Monday’s hearing. Gergel told Savage that sometimes “people want to blame lawyers for outcomes, but lawyers are advocates, they are not magicians are they?”

Deepening Electricity Supply Via FG’s Solar Power Naija Programme Improving access to electricity has remained a key focus of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s interventions in the power sector. The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) and the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) have over the years steered the plan to provide offgrid solutions to the country’s energy challenges. With the adoption and implementation of the E c o n o m i c Sustainability Plan (ESP)’s Solar Power Naija Programme, the Federal Government is taking its off-grid initiative to another level. The programme will provide electricity access to five million households, serving about 25 million Nigerians in rural areas and under-served urban communities nationwide. On April 9, the solar power scheme was launched in Jangefe, a small community in the Kazaure Emirate, Roni Local Government Area of Jigawa. With the commencement of the administration’s solar power scheme, the community will get 1,000 Solar Home Systems connections for its about 5,000 population.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who inaugurated the scheme at Jangefe, said that the rollout would continue across the six geo-political zones. “Other solar companies are also in the pipeline for the Solar Power Naija facility to continue the march to five million connections during the life of this administration. “From Jangefe, the scheme will then go to the entire 36 states and the FCT covering 25 million Nigerians in the end. “This will further improve access to electricity nationwide, especially as available statistics (World Bank 2020 Report) indicate that 97 million people or 47 per cent of Nigeria’s population do not get electricity from the national grid. “Indeed, the commencement of the ESP Solar Power Naija Programme marks a significant leap from what, in the past decade, had seemed like an impossible task of expanding electricity access, especially to rural communities.’’ NDPHC and REA, have the responsibility of implementing the ESP’s five million solar connections initiative. At the end of the implementation of the scheme, NDPHC and REA, leading other private sector partners would have provided access to 25 million Nigerians across the country and in the process, creating over 250,

In the same vein, since January 2017, when the administration, through NDPHC, launched the first phase of its off-grid initiative, known as “Beyond the Grid Project,” providing 20,000 solar units to off-grid communities across the country, the plan to electrify all Nigerian communities has progressed steadily. On the other hand, REA, as an agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria provides electricity to rural and underserved communities. The agency is currently working on 197 capital projects in the six geopolitical zones. It also supports off-grid development projects which have proven to be more cost-effective than connecting to the grid in remote areas of the country. The Solar Power Naija Implementation Blueprint spells out the role of REA in the programme. “REA will drive the implementation, while private companies will install and manage the home systems, drawing funding from a low-cost loan facility from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). “Through a World Bank and REA programme

called the Nigerian Electrification Programme (NEP), each connection under the Solar Power Naija Programme will receive a 20 per cent rebate for the developer, thus allowing the rates charged to consumers to be reduced by the same amount.” Osinbajo gave more insights on the role of the REA, while inaugurating the solar power scheme in Jigawa. He said that structures had been put in place to make the connections cost affordable for all. “In addition to the concessionary lending rates, the government has provided subsidies and rebates for private developers to the tune of over 200 million dollars under REA and World Bank Nigeria Electrification Programme. “ The programme incorporates several innovative solutions to increase affordability for the citizens, while also providing sufficient comfort to investors and financiers alike. “The Solar Power Naija Programme, designed by the Rural Electrification Agency, is an ambitious initiative that aims to create five million connections through a N140 billion financing programme that will support private developers to provide power for five million households, which means providing electricity for up to 25 million Nigerians,’’ he said.

The company had in 2017 launched 20,000 units of solar home system for rural communities not connected to the grid. Building on this background, the agency’s target is to provide 100,000 units in the first phase of the five million connections. It was incorporated with the mandate to manage the power projects tagged ‘National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP)’ and in the past few years got involved in off-grid initiatives, all in a bid to improve power generation and distribution especially to rural communities. On his part, the Managing Director of NDPHC, Mr Chiedu Ugbo, said the company had creditably acquitted itself in solar power projects. “We have a track record in implementing solar

power project; we have done 20,000 units already, that is being enjoyed by communities across the country. “Here today, we are kickstarting the 100,000 Solar Home System, and we are taking this as phase 2 of our Beyond the Grid project at the NDPHC. “From this community, we will be going to other communities across the country and we are starting this phase with 100,000 units. “It is an economic programme of government as well; what that means is that it is beyond providing electricity. “We have job creation as part of the benefits of this scheme. We are targeting about 250,000 jobs from the entire programme; the first phase we did which was just 20,000 units created about 500 jobs,” he said. Partnering with A-SOLAR, a local solar power company implementing aspects of the Solar Power Naija scheme, delivering 1,000 units in Jangefe community, the NDPHC is poised to deliver 100,000 units across the country in the first phase of the project. Observers say the solar power scheme is capable of turning around Nigeria’s perennial electricity challenges.
