TU Delft - Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment (2014):
The Reed filter tower design was part of the design studio “3D Nature”
of The Why Factory - TU Delft. We did research on how to integrate nature within buildings and the urban landscape.
The design goal: design a residential building or tower combined with added elements of nature with a program of 100 households (average 3 pers.). There were different categories: Food-production, Biodiversity, Leisure and
Purifiers/Energizers. The reed filter tower is part of the purification/energizers category. The Research mainly focused on the purification of wastewater
by reed filters and further investigated possibilities for recovery of energy and minerals out of local waste (water) streams.
