Outro:

This project was a mixture of a lot of different feelings and experiences. I realized things I never thought about, and I don’t think I would have ever. In order to look for something in myself and to create something I could be proud of I tried to explore in different ways. I wanted to make sure that whatever I work on, gives me enough satisfaction as a project and as a person. This project can be described as a branding project where one tries to talk about the philosophy and ideas of the institution. This project is about putting forward essential information, which helps prospect students to understand different aspects of the community and the institute.

Frankly, no matter how many words I use to describe the ‘circle’, it would be less. Practically there is so much to say, but the things I learnt, noticed, realized and thought are uncountable. An essential part of this project was running around and getting work done and I can say that I didn’t just work as a graphic designer, but tried to learn more about the management part and how the system works. I don’t know if I’m fine with it, but I guess the work techniques I came across were not new. I’ve got opportunities to work with the administration and academic department. The process, according to me, could have been more supportive and flexible. Flexible enough to understand the difficulties of a designer. It surely taught me to deal with people at various levels, at another level. I was asked to reflect on my experience and ‘complete the circle of learning’…

Mr. P. Vyas, contributed with their significant remarks and encouragement. At several points he told me the importance of this project. He also felt free to discuss what he wants to depict through this document. With every meeting I got encouragement and suggestions for further explorations.

Admission Committee

Headed by Tarun Deep Girdher, membersImmanuel Suresh, Vijaya Deshmukh, Ramarao, Praveen Nahar and Gayatri Menon, made sure where I was headed and how justified it was for something they want to represent. Before presenting the growth to the director, I had to inform the committee as well. Bein the head of the committee and my guide, Tarun helped a lot in the communication. Not just that, because my guide and the committee chairperson was the same, it helped me to understand the objective and the their perspective in a better way. He helped me visualize the language and understand the distribution of information.

While working on the website, we had a really short time period to develop one. Within a week we had to put up a website, with an interface through which people can understand the institution and it’s philosophy. We focused on the forms and how simple it can be for one to download them. Rupesh helped a lot to understand the working of a website, and how you start planning for it. One very important thing while working on a website is, you need to follow it up and see if there are any amendments and if everything is going smoothly. To get a faster output we outsourced the developers, which increased the speed of work. The only drawback was connectivity, as we had to be in touch with phone calls and mails. It took time to make changes, but as an experience it was brilliant. The swiftness of the developer team was amazing, and things got done with a call. 6

IT Dept.

Academics Dept.

The registrar, Dr. V. Deshmukh, was responsible for the information going in the brochure and the website. Vijaya Ma’am along with Himangi Ma’am edited the text, which gave info about the admission procedure. After every draft I had to go to them to get things checked. This part of the project was most elongated. The editing for the newspaper advertisement and brochure took really long, and the text kept increasing and decreasing. From my experience I would say that the advertisement should have lesser text than what we had.

7

They helped us with the newspaper advertisement. After finalizing on the advertisement, I contacted Swaminarayan Sir, who was already in touch with an advertising agency. We gave them the package of the things used in the same. Generally they also help with the printing of the brochure and the poster. But due to some circumstances I didn’t get a chance to see my work get printed.

Administration Dept.

This project was an eye-opener, and how I wish it actually turned out the way I wanted it too. There were a lot of communication gaps through out the project between the departments. I don’t know who’s fault it would be, but at the end of it I suffered. I started the project to develop the brochure, But sadly that never happened, the thing I was wanted to see get printed, didn’t print. The disappointment is still there somewhere. I guess this also happened because we focused majorly on the website. This time we had pdfs of the forms put up on the website, and anyone and everyone could print them. It felt good to see the website go live, but nothing can replace the feeling of seeking your own publication getting printed. I would regret that part a bit, but this project gave me an amazing experience.
