ast November 12, 2010, Elizabeth Seton School (ESS) celebrated its annual Math Day with the theme “Reinforcing Multiple Intelligences through Mathematical Skills”. The Math Department prepared specific activities per year level targeting the students’ development of the multiple intelligences. The activities held at the ESS Gymnasium were as follows:
Numbo is a game patterned like the Bingo game. To be able to know what to cross-out from your board, one has to answer the Math problem given. Human Damath on the other hand is a checker-like game wherein the pieces were represented by students and the board was decorated with Math operations. ast October 8, 2010, high school students of Elizabeth Seton School – Main held their Araling Panlipunan day. In celebration of this, the AP department designed a different approach for this occasion by constructing “The Powerbox Museum.” It took place in the FBA Auditorium and Audio Visual Rooms in the Mindanao Building. The Powerbox Museum is a travelling exhibit that aims to enhance classroom discussions in the field of Social Studies. “The Powerbox” also involves Film/Documentary Showing, exhibiting of well-crafted dioramas and life-like artifacts, playing interactive games, and conducting lectures which focused on the theme, History and Geography. All high school students were invited to avail of the free face painting service, which were also available outside the Audio Visual Rooms. ■
