maroquinerie Nicole Stulman is a luxury accessories designer renowned for her best-selling handbag designs. Highlights of her career include work for : Céline, Dior, Burberry, Hermès, Reed Krakoff and Lancel. A native New Yorker based in Paris, Stulman initially moved to the French capital to work with Michael Kors at Celine. After collaborations at Dior and Burberry, she was tapped to be the first ‘Directeur du Studio Maroquinerie’ at Hermès, a role created specifically for Stulman by co-artistic directors Pascale Mussard and Pierre-Alexis Dumas. Notable successes which are still in the collection are Jypsiere, So Kelly, and Medor. Following Hermès she was appointed Design Director at Reed Krakoff. During her tenure the house received the CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year Award. In 2013, Stulman was appointed Artistic Director of the historic French leather goods brand, Lancel owned by Richemont. She is credited with modernising the storied house through her love of detail and eye for color while maintaining the rich DNA of the brand's history. Her bestselling styles include Charlie, Bianca, Le Huit, and Pia. Stulman was awarded the Wallpaper Best Interpretation of Archives prize for her work at Lancel. Most recently she consulted for Cartier and has collaborated on a wide range of luxury brand projects.
