ACHI EV E M E NT S & AWA R D S · Received full-paid scholarship with National Geographic Student Expeditions (2016) Out of 20 students selected nationwide, I was given the opportunity to choose a travel destination of my choosing from National Geographic’s programs. After deciding upon Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, the focus of the trip surrounded photography. For three weeks, I was accompanied by other high school photographers along with our trip leaders who were instructors at the New York Film Academy. ($10,000 value) · Honorable Mention for film “Liberty in North Korea” – LISD Film Festival (2015) Created a documentary about an interview with a North Korean refugee’s escape story and her transition into the United States. · 1st Place – Junior Windmill Photography Association - (2013) Won the first place prize of $300 in a local photography competition in the Dallas area.
