I am a Taiwanese artist currently residing in London, dedicated to the study of conservation principles at UCL. From a young age, I embarked on the path of fine arts, with a particular

My artistic endeavors are a reflection of social phenomena, drawing inspiration from my personal experiences and emotions. In my work, I explore atmospheric landscapes and explore the intricate interactions between individuals.

CREATIVE PROJECT

On the surface Practise of deteriorations analyses 2023 I gathered a few examples of actual conservation process and images, which I believe that is the most interesting part to observe art works and bring curiosity from conservation directly. Except for documentation, I analyse features of deteriorations into an info graph that could shows complex information at the same time. Focus more on the traces, images and colours created on artworks through the baptism of time, and simplify the differences between cultural relics and new generation artworks. The intention is to make this subject closer to people and share the perspectives in both creative art and preservation knowledge.

COURSE WORK

Inter-disciplinary program Documantation of detoriorations Observe the deteriorations through photographs of ultraviolet light, infrared light and general photography for report. The relics included calligraphic, ink painting and oil painting. We tried to find the best angle with assist of light to present obvious and easy-understanding damages

Pracrise of replica In order to copy accurate line and colours of collections, the training begin with drawing 1cm x 1cm grids, to produce accurate shape. The practices included materials of pencil, watercolour, dip pen, and charcoal, which correlate to my further practice on retouching.

Mother of pearl on lacquerware Using wood plate, gasoline, raw lacquer, black lacquer, thin shell and eggshell, then transferred them to a lacquerware with mother-of-pearl decoration. The procedure took nearly three months, during the production, high humidity environment, brush, and other appliances were also made to assist.

From the perspective of bystanders, there are countless things in society that are located at the same place and at the same time. Such as a small reservoir next to the turbulent river: or a self that group-inclusive but unique. These existences interact like mutualism or phagocytosis. I condensed individuals into a scene, and they are tightly entangled in a stranded space and turn in to a new “individual”.

Base colour of Stranding

Influenced by claborate - style painting, I fascinated with the similarity of producing process between it and tempera. I made it with complex colour layers to ensure the enough stereoscopic, furthermore, reserve sense of gradient and space from ink-painting. I combined both techniques together to create a vibe of Mono no aware aesthetic, that presents those life about to wither.

CREATIVE PROJECT

Beneath the canopy: sprout colours in the world of trees Arcrylic, fabric 450 x 165 cm 2023 Response to Art accelerator and Discover Wolfson’s Gardens in Cambridge Festival. We collected natural elements and sounds from Cambridge environment to release abstract patterns by graphic design, which focus on colour specific and visual overlapping.

Inspired from visualisation on leaves, trunks, fruits, etc. We made a micro colour plant (crayons) terrarium to express how colours are nourished by ecosystem to create natural harmony. The artwork displayed by fabric roll which represents how we explore the space and start the advanturre with metaphor of map.

SKETCH

To make background has moisture effect, after experimental testing, I used charcoal powder mixing with water that create texture of rain pour.

The bicycles are in an inconspicuous corner, they are protected by transparent umbrellas from a heavy rain which metaphors as a situation that people thrive in adversity.

Dawu tribe on Orchid island is an admirable ocean folk. The innocence and enthusiasm of the Dawu children are spread over the island. They face to sparkling sea and talk to the god: Let’s have a harvest festival!
