It’s that time of year again, and I’m thrilled to welcome you all to our annual bull and female sale. This event has truly become a highlight for our community—a chance for us to showcase our program while connecting with fellow cattlemen and friends.
CFFI has had a fantastic year! We’ve checked off many new accomplishments, including upgrading our herd bulls in a big way. I’m beyond excited about this year’s calf crop and the direction our program is heading.
One of the most exciting moments for us was our first big win at The Royal Winter Fair in Toronto—a milestone that made the year even more special. Our home-raised bull performed exceptionally well alongside our partners at Breezyknoll, and we couldn’t be prouder of the results.
Through it all, the farm continues to be my place of peace. There’s nothing better than touring the pastures and seeing our herd grow and develop into something truly special.
A huge thank you to my dedicated staff for their hard work and long hours—it wouldn’t be possible without you. I look forward to seeing everyone on sale day and catching up with you all!

Our great-grandfather started our family in the cattle business with Angus, and when it came time for his dispersal, the motto was clear—”Get Bigger or Get Out.” Now, as the fourth generation, we continue that legacy, raising Angus, Charolais, and Simmental while also growing field crops tomatoes!
Our relationship with Daryl and his family goes back generations. Before the first sale, we inquired about his cattle, which led us to meet Hugh. That meeting changed everything—after attending the inaugural sale, we walked away with five heifers, and just like that, we were back in the cattle business.
From that moment on, Hughie took us rookies under his wing, introducing us to hundreds of people in the industry and bringing us to shows and sales across Canada and the United States. The friendships and experiences we’ve gained in the past four years have been nothing short of incredible.
Some of our program highlights include Clarke Whiskey Girl 16J, who, alongside Jon-Ern The Big Tomato, was named Reserve National Champion Female at the 2023 National Junior Simmental Show for Reagan and Samantha. In 2024, we had the honor of exhibiting Conley Willard, the Grand Champion Angus Bull at The Royal Winter Fair in Toronto, alongside Clarke Family Farms Inc. and Conley Cattle. We also had the Champion Charolais Bull at Farmfair International in Edmonton—PCC Husk, owned with Prairie Cove Charolais and Southland Angus & Charolais.

Welcome to our Volume IV Bull & Female Sale at Clarke Family Farms Inc. It’s been an exciting four years here at CFFI. Our focus has been on building a herd of cows that produce bulls and heifers, each destined to add pounds, production, and profit to the calves of our valued customers in both our Angus and Simmental programs.
The year 2024 has brought many firsts to our program that we’re thrilled to share with you! We’ve expanded our breeding roster with a new and exciting set of herd bulls to enhance our AI and Breeding Programs, featuring FRKG Alpha, Conley Willard, Boss Lake All My Life, SFI Final Approach, and SFI Mile High Remedy. The results from these additions are already impressive.
A special congratulations goes out to Conley Willard 3319L, crowned Champion and Supreme Angus at the 2024 Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. Kudos to Jon-Ern, Conley, and Clarke’s – and a big thank you to Kyle Conley and his crew for making it all happen.
We’re also proud to highlight Clarke’s Stunner 16L, our high-selling Angus Bull to Breezyknoll Livestock in Ridgetown (The Heyboer Family), who was named Ontario Show Bull of the Year. Congratulations and thank you to the Heyboer Family!
Our ongoing relationship with past customers continues to grow. Our volume buyer from our inaugural Bull Sale in 2022, The Stewart Brothers – JonErn Farms Limited, has partnered with us on the new sires, coming in strong with 13 exciting lots. It’s a pleasure to work with familiar faces and see our community thrive.
I couldn’t be more pleased with our Clarke Family Farms sale offering. I’m very proud of our cattle, with Perrott Moonshine 7K and Conley Expression headlining the Angus division. The Simmental lead-offs are out of RF Caliber 014G, and the Caliber sons at Lewis Farms averaged an impressive $26,000! These matings truly make this our best sale offering to date.

We were the contending bidders down in Sulphur, Oklahoma, when we purchased Conley Willard 3319L, setting in motion a partnership with Conley Cattle, Jon-Ern Farms Limited, and Clarke Family Farms Inc. What a ride it’s been—and it’s only just begun! If Willard isn’t the most exciting bull out there, he’s definitely one of the most well-traveled. Right after we bought him, he went to stud, then headed up to Blenheim for April/May breeding, back down to Oklahoma to cover more cows and prepare for the fall, and finally made his way north again to the Royal Winter Fair, where he was slapped Grand Champion Bull and Supreme Angus. For newer breeders from Blenheim, Ontario, having friends and neighbors there to witness it was a true honor. If you get a chance to tour his calves, you’ll see exactly why we’re so fired up—they’re big- topped, big-hipped, and neat-fronted, with the shape and muscle everyone wants. And the buzz is that Willard could be even more impressive as a mature show bull than he was as a yearling. We can’t wait to see what the future holds! Willard 3319L’s dam sold half interest last fall to Glovers Delaware Creek Ranch in Oklahoma with Jon-Ern Farms Limited as a close runner up! What a cow! The kind to build a cow herd around. Long! LLB Bullseye was the lead-off bull at the LLB Sale, purchased by the Bullseye Semen Syndicate with possession at CFFI. We’re excited about the Bullseye calves—they carry a nice look and balance that will surely impress you in next year’s sale offering.
On a more somber note, we lost a true friend and mentor in Lee Brown this January. Just days before his passing, I had the chance to chat with him about cattle; he told me, “I gotta call you back after supper!”—but we never got to finish that conversation. I was fortunate enough to work with Lee and Laura at LLB for nearly 38 years, helping with everything from clipping and showing cattle, sales — basically anything Lee needed done. You couldn’t help but learn something new every day with him, and he shared his knowledge with so many young men and women over the years. If you ever worked at LLB or attended one of their sales, you’ve seen firsthand the impact he had. I can’t help but smile at the thought of Lee pulling up to Heaven’s Gates in his tractor and feed wagon, horn blaring—that’s exactly how he lived life, and it would’ve been priceless. A lot of our foundation herd here came from LLB Angus, and every day I walk through the cows, I think about Lee Brown. After a lifetime of working alongside him and the Brown family, it’s hardnot to miss his calls or the chance to phone him for advice. For a friend who always had my back, I’ll miss you “Brownie”... until aftersupper comes.

Wow National Western Stock Show 2024 will go down in the history books for my family as a great one! As I was watched the Simmental Pen Show they were selling tickets on the People’s Choice Power Simmental Lottery, so I thought what the heck buy a ticket for the kids and I.
