Green Line Metro In Mumbai: Metro Lines 4, 4A, 10, & 11

The currently under construction 57.18km long fully elevated Green Line Metro Station (Lines 4, 4A, 10, 11) will connect Shivaji Chowk (Mira Road), Gaimukh, Kasarawadavali, Wadala, and CST via 48 stations. The Maharashtra cabinet approved the Green Metro line 4 corridor proposal on September 27, 2016, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone on December 24, 2016.

Concerning the Green Line Metro Station

The MMRDA is in charge of the entire Green Line Metro Station project (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority). MMRDA will also construct metro stations and depots in the Thane villages of Vikhroli and Owala.

Based on the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) model, the Green line metro Mumbai construction is divided into five distinct packages. A joint venture between Reliance Infrastructure and the Italian multinational company Astaldi S.p.A. was awarded three packages totaling Rs. 1,584 crores (USD 200 million). A 32.32 km corridor between Wadala and Kasarvadavali in eastern Mumbai would be built under these packages along LBS Marg and the Eastern Express Highway.

The final two packages, worth Rs. 1,048 crores, were secured by a joint venture between Tata Projects Limited and China Harbour Engineering Company (USD 130 million). The proposed Green Line metro was launched with the goal of providing alternative transportation options to local residents.

The Green Line's first phase is set to begin in 2023, with a number of interchanges connecting it to other metro lines, buses, and suburban rail services. MMRDA publicly announced the line's official colour on February 28, 2020, as part of an extensive branding campaign to establish style rules, with consultation from Systra MVA Consulting.

Green Line 11 (Planned)

Line 4A will connect Kasarvadavali and Gaimukh, extending the Green Line north by 2.88 kilometres. The MMRDA issued a request for proposals in March 2019, and J Kumar Infraprojects was awarded civil construction work worth Rs 342 crore in September 2019.

The Mumbai Metro Green Line 4A, which will cost Rs 949 crore, will include a 20 hectare metro car depot at Mogharpada. Gowniwada and Gaimukh will have elevated stations on this under construction line.

Metro lines 4 and 4A, which connect Wadala TT to Gaimukh, would be the longest rail corridor in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with a length of 35.25 km, 32 stations, and 5 interchanges along the route. In fact, the distance between Thane and the mainland city will be quickly covered by this Metro line.
