Overlooking the winery’s tank room to the north and the patio with spectacular gardens to the south, the Terrace Room is a perfect setting for indoor ceremonies and dining. The adjacent outdoor space of the Terrace Slope has the ability to be tented to provide additional covered areas for your guests Our in house culinary team cultivates a unique dining experiences with seasonal ingredients for your guests enjoyment.

Open the glass doors from the Tasting Room or Terrace Room to access the winery’s expansive gardens. The Tasting Room is notable for its dramatic soaring ceilings, dual-sided tasting bar and double-sided fireplace with indoor/outdoor lounge seating. Take advantage of the gardens, picnic tables and multiple outdoor fireplaces to entertain up to 200 guests.

On the wedding day, the Tree House serves as the perfect quiet retreat and "getting ready" room for the wedding party. For pre-wedding celebrations, the Tree House is a light and airy setting for a celebratory shower or luncheon on the spectacular 17’ handcrafted salvaged wood table.

When you arrive, you will be shown to your private getting ready suite which will be fully serviced with menu & beverage items of your choosing. Our events team will check in during your getting ready time and assist with accommodations to help family and friends get ready for your special day!
As guests arrive to your ceremony, they will be welcomed with a splash of our award winning wine before taking their seat for your ceremony.
Following your ceremony, guests will make their way to cocktail hour. Within the Lower Garden’s ideal setting, guests will gather to toast your love with a glass of wine, nosh on appetizers and enjoy a game of bocce.
The Novelty Hill-Januik events team will transform your selected dining space to wow your guests. Whether you would like to dine outside under the trees or indoors in our modern Terrace Room space, our experienced events team will set all dining tables with our in-house amenities or provided rental items to impress. Our in-house culinary team celebrates the fresh, flavorful abundance of Northwest cuisine, by creating seasonal dishes to enhance the enjoyment of our wines and bring people together around the table.
After toasting and dancing, a late night snack is in order! Our brick oven pizzas and bite sized dessert are perfect for guests before they cha-cha back to the dance floor!

TIME FRAME FOR WEDDING DAY
Ceremonies may start at 6pm or 6:30pm. The Winery is open to the public from 11AM - 5pm daily. Invited guests should not arrive prior to 5:45pm to ensure they can be accommodated. Access to the "getting ready" areas is as follows: 4pm for Reception Only, 2pm for Gold Package, 10am for Platinum package. All events end by 11:00pm, with last call for bar service at 10:30pm. If you decide to use our Lower Garden for dancing, music must conclude at 10PM, with the event concluding at 11:00pm.
Ceremony rehearsals take place at 9am or 10am Tuesday - Saturday on a mutually agreeable date and will need to be scheduled with advanced notice. Rehearsal availability is dependent on venue event schedule & accessibility.
CATERING
Novelty Hill-Januik Winery will provide all food for your event; outside food or catering is not allowed. An exception to this rule is made for professional wedding cakes, custom desserts, or late night snack provided by a licensed vendor. A waiver of liability form will need to be signed.
VENDORS
We offer up to five (5) complimentary vendor meals as part of your catering package. Any additional vendor meals will be charged at $50 per person. All vendors must wait until the final table has been called before entering the buffet line. If a plated dinner package is selected, vendors will be served last.
All Vendors must be licensed, insured, and have the authorization to perform business within the state of Washington.
Novelty Hill-Januik Winery will provide all wine, beer, sparkling wine, hard seltzer and non-alcoholic beverages for your event. These must be ordered two weeks prior of your event date. All bar service and glassware are provided by the winery.
Menu tastings are held seasonally and include a chef's selection of items from that season's menu. Menu tastings are complimentary for up to 4 guests depending on your package. Novelty Hill-Januik does not offer private tastings.
PAYMENT
A non-refundable deposit equal to the facility rental is due along with your signed contract to confirm your event. The final balance is due 2 weeks prior to your event date. The card on file will be used to capture the funds. If there is a credit or balance after the event, a final invoice will be emailed within 3 business days.
A 22% service charge will be automatically computed on the total of food and beverage charges and included on the final invoice. 35% of this service charge is distributed directly to front and back of house employees as gratuities, bonuses, and benefits. Service charge is subject to sales tax per Washington State law.
Menu selections are due (3) calendar weeks prior to your event date. The guaranteed guest count is due (2) calendar weeks prior to your event date and cannot be reduced after the deadline. Entrée counts for plated meals with multiple selections offered are due (2) calendar weeks prior to your event date and must be indicated on place cards provided by you for each place setting.
A professional day-of wedding coordinator is required for all Novelty HillJanuik weddings. To meet the requirements of professional experience your wedding planner must be associated with a licensed planning company and a planner from our Preferred Vendor list. Any outside planners will have an additional $1,000 fee added to your invoice.
Floral and rental items may be delivered directly to the winery the day of your event. Any additional rental items requested for the day of the event must be approved by venue no later than 90 days before the wedding. Additional labor fees may apply if additional staffing is needed to properly execute rentals. Timing must be communicated in advance. Our staff is happy to assist with the placement of small décor items provided they are table-ready, such as guest favors. The City of Woodinville does not permit the use of sparklers, wish lanterns, or other flammable items classified as fireworks. Novelty Hill-Januik Winery does not allow the use of glitter, confetti, silly string, open flame candles, tapered candles, real or artificial flower petals.
Please inquire about specific limitations for hanging elements both indoors and outdoors.
There is a total of (60) parking spaces on premise for guest and vendor use. Novelty Hill-Januik Winery requires lot management, valet or a shuttle service for groups expecting more than 120 guests at the property. A confirmation within 90 days of event date is required.
The gate at the entrance of the property is closed and locked at the conclusion of services. Overnight parking is prohibited, cars may be towed at owner’s expense.
Higher facility rentals and food and beverage minimums, as well as other special requirements, may apply to holidays and special observance days.
Please be advised that our event spaces have a maximum capacity. If you choose to exceed the agreed upon number of guests written on your contract, Novelty Hill-Januik Winery cannot be responsible for services rendered. We can happily accommodate Weddings up to 120. Any guest count exceeding 120 are subject to rentals and additional tables, chairs, cutlery, plates, glassware etc. & additional staffing charges.
Novelty Hill-Januik includes qualified staff as part of your package to help with setup, breakdown, cleanup, and the service of your event. Additional service requests may be considered and subject to additional staffing and labor fees.
Due to our liquor license, hard alcohol is strictly prohibited at the winery. You are subject to a $4,500 minimum penalty if hard alcohol is discovered in possession of your guests. Novelty Hill-Januik is a smoke free property. You are responsible for alerting your wedding guests and families of this policy in advance.
Novelty Hill-Januik Winery does require all couples to work with a professional wedding planner or coordinator. This process guarantees a flawless event that meets the expectations associated with our distinctive venue. Our goal is to create an inclusive planning process for each couple with as little stress as possible! We have built a strong relationship with our preferred planning partners and encourage you to reach out and find your perfect planner.

Pioneering the Washington state wine industry since 1984, including ten years as head winemaker at Chateau Ste Michelle during a pivotal time in the Washington wine industry, Mike Januik founded Januik Winery with wife Carolyn in 1999 premised on a devotion to quality and the exemplification of Columbia Valley as a premier grape growing region in the world. Developing a relationship with the Alberg-Beck family in 2000 as they were looking to plant what would become the Novelty Hill estate vineyard, Stillwater Creek Vineyard, Novelty Hill – Januik Winery naturally evolved as two separately owned wineries sharing one facility and winemaking team.
As family-owned wineries, Mike and Carolyn have granted their sons Andrew and Donald the privilege of being a part of the winery for more than two decades. Both sons work at an operational level, Andrew as Winemaker and Donald as Director of Hospitality. In addition, the Alberg-Beck family works closely with the Januiks to guide the direction of each winery, their family providing support to this passion every step of the way
