Ngenco Installation Quality Control This is a short list of actions that can help ensure the Ngenco application goes smoothly and the protective spray meets all of the customers expectations and requirements while reducing the need for possible reworks.
Checking for Ceramic: 1. Ask the customer if they have ceramic installed.
2. After installation many ceramic coatings companies apply a sticker or badge located somewhere on the vehicle. These can often be in the door shut or in the windscreen. 3. Clean the car down with a decontamination wash, if the water begins to bead and sheet off there is a high probability of ceramic coating. 4. If ceramic is on the vehicle please see ceramic removal guide.
Masking areas:
1. Discuss with the applicator and MET the best parts to mask up or remove for ease of application, Bear in mind tight gaps and parts that could rub together. 2. Check if any hard lines* are required or any other masking techniques *Hard line tape edges need to be removed during the bake cycle. 3. See if there are any areas that may require vulnerable area adhesion agent.
Micrometer readings:
1. Take depth readings of the OE paint work around the vehicle in the areas that require Ngenco application. Discount any anomalies from previous repairs such as filled areas and take an average reading across the panel. Mark the OE micrometer readings in the Ngenco warranty booklet. 2. After the applicator has applied their* coats of Ngenco base and it is dry, test the panels again in the same locations as previously. Ensure the Ngenco base has added on a minimum of 100 microns more than the OE readings taken earlier, if the 100 microns hasn’t been reached more coats of Ngenco base will need to be applied, please remember to allow for a 5-10% reduction in the base thickness from the drying process in the Spray booth. Mark the Ngenco base readings in the warranty booklet
