Photography Classes

Photography Certificate Program The Photography Certificate Program is a professional certificate program that gives you an excellent opportunity to explore an interest in photography as a hobby or for professional development. It is ideal for those who wish to enhance their knowledge of commercial photography or to complement careers in public relations, marketing, graphic design or writing. Courses are now offered on the Dahlonega, Cumming and Gainesville campuses. To earn the Photography Certificate: 1. Fill out an application (available online) 2. Successfully complete six core courses over a one-year period.* 3. Exhibit your work in the final show.

History and Techniques for Digital Black and White Photography

Photography Portfolio Certificate Program Capstone Class

The portfolio class is for those students who have taken all certificate classes and are ready to finalize their portfolios and have their exit show. Prepare to present your work and approach galleries. Portfolios will be critiqued during the first two classes. Your exhibit work will be chosen by the end of the third class. The final class will consist of hanging the exit show and attending the reception and final exhibition. Expenses/supplies: Students should expect to have at least two pieces in the final show. Recreation Classes Belly Dancing Series

Be a part of the ancient mystery, modern allure, and body-toning exercise of the Middle East. Belly dancing is low impact and aerobic, and it can be done by almost anyone. NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course

Learn the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This course includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn the rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, and two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Healthcare Classes Phlebotomy Technician Certificate

This 90-hour program, offered through CCI, prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology; anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. This program helps students prepare for National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam. Books and materials included. Pharmacy Technician Certificate

This comprehensive 50 hour course, offered through CCI, will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam. Clinical Medical Assistant Program

This program, offered through CCI, will train students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes among other things preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures and the technical aspects of phlebotomy and the use of the electrocardiograph (EKG) machine. This program includes 140 hours of classroom lecture and hands on labs and a 160 hour clinical externship opportunity at a local healthcare service provider for those students who qualify. Soil Erosion - NPDES Level 1A Fundamental Recertification Course

This four-hour course is for individuals who need to recertify their NPDES Level 1A (Blue) card which expires every three years. According to state law, every three years, a certified individual shall be required to attend and participate in at least four hours of approved continuing education courses, as established by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission. Industry Classes ServSafe速 Certification Training for Food Service Workers & Managers

The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification is nationally recognized and accredited. To date, more than 3 million ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certifications have been awarded. This course is conducted in one single 8-hour session with the last 2 hours dedicated for the exam. The majority of the class is an interactive lecture with demonstrations and participatory activities. In addition to the lecture there may be a short video or two to highlight important concepts. The cost of registration includes 8 hours of class, testing, ServSafe速 6th Edition Coursebook, and certificates. The New ServSafe 6th Edition Coursebook contains the latest FDA Food Code updates and is based on a new job task analysis developed exclusively by industry experts. The book focuses intently on the preventative measures to keep food safe, leading to stronger food safety practices and a better trained workforce. MINIMIZE RISK AND MAXIMIZE PROTECTION WITH THIS LATEST EDITION. Georgia requires at least one food service manager on staff who has successfully completed a food safety training program and passed an ANSI-CFP exam. Transfers: You may transfer to another class for a $10 fee if you notify us by phone or fax at least three working days before the course begins. The class to which you transfer must be already scheduled, and transfers must be made within the same fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). Transfer requests made within three working days of the course starting date will not be granted, and no refund will be given. Children in Class: Our goal is to provide quality instruction; therefore, children are not permitted to sit in on classes for which they are not registered. Unless otherwise noted, the minimum age for continuing education classes is sixteen years of age.
