Luc Dendievel (Johnson & Johnson) is the International Fleet Manager of the Year 2013 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prague, 22 November 2013 - This year at the Fleet Europe Awards Ceremony, an audience of over 600 international car fleet professionals saw Luc Dendievel, Category Director Fleet EMEA, elected as International Fleet Manager of the Year 2013. The ceremony took place in the Hilton Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic.

Fleet Europe Awards It is the seventh successive year that the media platform Fleet Europe, specialised in Business to Business information on international car fleet management, has organised the Fleet Europe Awards, which recognise outstanding achievements in various categories of fleet management.

INTERNATIONAL FLEET MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2013 The highly coveted title of International Fleet Manager of the Year went to Luc Dendievel, Director Category Team Fleet at Johnson & Johnson. Hans-Georg Lutz, Senior Manager International Corporate Sales at Mercedes-Benz Cars handed over the prize which was awarded to Luc Dendievel by the Fleet Europe Jury for his fully integrated fleet strategy.

Second and third on the podium came Andrzej Sacha, Global Fleet Solutions Manager for Nestlé, and Laura Gobbis, Fleet Procurement Manager for Luxottica. Sarah Lomas, Vice President International Sales and Accounts at Athlon Car Lease International, and Vinzenz Pflanz, Chief Commercial Officer at Fleet Logistics, had the pleasure of presenting second and third prizes respectively.

The International Fleet Manager of the Year Award rewards the person having most successfully developed an international fleet management strategy and implemented an efficient international car policy, leading to an optimised cost structure and taking into account local differences and current fleet trends like sustainability, safety and mobility management. Luc Dendievel’s effective 360° approach covers all aspects of fleet management, from funding methodology to insurance, through CO2 setting, safety, brand selection, fleet management company and services. With a vision for the future the Fleet2017 Programme carried out by Luc Dendievel aims to create a more seamless and continual strategic approach to fleet management with a balance of centralised and decentralised decision making.

INTERNATIONAL FLEET GREEN AWARD 2013 Making another appearance on stage, Laura Gobbis of Luxottica was delighted to receive the International Fleet Green Award 2013 from Stéphane Chesnel, Head of B2B International Fleet Sales and Development at PSA Peugeot Citroën. Laura Gobbis was able to convince the jury that her fully integrated green car policy was worthy of the first prize. The green strategy implemented by Luxottica ensures the vehicles integrated in the car policy are fuel efficient, with CO2 capping per HR band.

The second prize was given by jury member and former winner Lutz Hansen, Global Lead Buyer at Bayer, to Karin Meersman, Corporate Fleet Manager EMEA at Johnson Controls, while the third prize went to Andrzej Sacha, Global Fleet Solutions Manager for Nestlé, who received it from the hands of Steven Schoefs, Chief Editor of Fleet Europe.

The International Fleet Green Award rewards a project focusing on eco-friendliness in fleet management, balancing overall cost optimisation with ecological aims, whilst taking into account driver satisfaction.

INTERNATIONAL FLEET SAFETY AWARD 2013 The International Fleet Safety Award was handed out for the sixth time, recognising a company that has successfully implemented a safety project for its fleet within the framework of its CSR strategy. It rewards a project that focuses on original tools and programmes to improve the safety of its drivers, whilst taking into account TCO optimisation.

Thanks to a global strategy for safety which takes into account local specificities when implemented, Nestlé’s Global Fleet Solutions Manager Andrzej Sacha was awarded the International Fleet Safety Award 2013, coming up on stage for the third time this evening. He received the award from Sinisa Andjelic, European Fleet & Remarketing Manager at Hyundai Motor Europe.

INTERNATIONAL FLEET MOBILITY AWARD 2013 For the fifth time, Fleet Europe rewarded a company that has successfully implemented a mobility project for its fleet. This category recognises the growing shift from car fleet management only to integrated mobility management, and rewards a project that focuses on enhancing mobility within the company while offering original mobility alternatives and optimisation of the use of the car.

Yet another prize for Laura Gobbis, Fleet Procurement Manager for Luxottica, whose detailed mobility programme – offering different alternatives to a company car in line with employee’s travel and commuting needs – and innovative solutions impressed the international jury. Martin Jahn, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Fleet International presented Laura Gobbis with the trophy.

INTERNATIONAL FLEET INNOVATION AWARD 2013 For the fourth time, Fleet Europe decided to reward international fleet owners presenting a fleet management project that stands out in the field of innovation, and more specifically regarding the car policy, the use of reporting tools, the CSR approach, safety approach, or driver satisfaction.

Jack Knol, Director Facilities & Accommodations at Capgemini, received the International Fleet Innovation Award from Javier Vazquez, Global Accounts Director for Volvo Car Corporation. With an innovative cost control tool that gives flexibility in cost prediction and includes some mobility elements as well, Capgemini won the Fleet Europe Jury over.

FLEET EUROPE INDUSTRY AWARD 2013 With this award, the fleet community acknowledges the fact that there are no successful corporates without successful suppliers. The Fleet Europe Industry Award is designed to highlight innovative tools, products or services offered by international fleet suppliers that help international fleet managers to optimise their fleet management.

The first prize was handed out by Ian Hucker, Director European Fleet and Commercial Vehicles at Opel/Vauxhall, to a pioneer in Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which already won this same prize in 2011: Mobileye. Mobileye impressed the jury with its Mobileye 5 Series + Enhancement Box, which is able to provide fleet managers with practical and precise information on driver behaviour and safety, whilst providing the driver with state of the art ADAS solution to ensure their safety.

Alphabet with its eMobility solution AlphaElectric picked up second prize, while VULOG saw its CarSharing Services rewarded with third prize in this suppliers’ category.

FLEET EUROPE HALL OF FAME 2013 Last but not least, the international audience discovered the name of the fourth fleet industry pioneer to enter the Fleet Europe Hall of Fame. This year’s entrant to the Fleet Europe Hall of Fame is one of the most respected actors in the leasing industry: Pascal Serres, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at ALD International. Mr Serres has successfully developed and guided the ALD organisation towards an integrated global fleet services approach.

The Fleet Europe Hall of Fame recognises fleet industry leaders who have significantly contributed to the international fleet management profession. For this fourth edition the winner was elected by Fleet Europe readers through online voting. Pascal Serres, who gathered over a thousand votes, was rewarded by Martin Jahn, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Fleet International, on behalf of the entire fleet community.
