Bikes, Trikes & Outdoor Play Extreme (Education) Get ready for balance bikes!! Balance Bikes are set to become a worldwide trend. Tests in South Africa and other countries clearly show the benefits of using this bike range. After following the free training program most children are able to go onto a bicycle without the need of balancing aids (training wheels / stabilizers) on small bikes for children.

The use of such balancing aids proved to stunt the gross motor skill development of a young child. In short, it is not beneficial to have your child play on bicycles with balancing aids.

During trials conducted by the Sports Science Institute of the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, the results clearly showed remarkable improvement in a child’s Gross Motor Skills, with some tests showing 100% improvements.

Colour Mixing: To use for colour mixing the ‘limited palette’ colours there are 2 yellows, 2 reds, 2 blues, black & white. From these many other colours can be created. Experiment using your fingers!

Scratch & Print: Take a sheet of paper and fold it in half. Lay down light colours on one half and overlay the light colours with dark shades. Scratch a picture through the dark shades to expose the light colours. Finally fold and rub hard over the back of the picture to create a mirror image.

Painting Pastels: The colours can be blended and then turned into paint using a brush dipped in water. Many unusual effects can be created by using a damp brush to remove overlaid colours.

Carbon Paper Method: Lay down onto a sheet of paper a series of colours in a ‘rainbow effect’. Turn the paper over onto another piece of paper and write or draw with a ball point pen or pencil on the back of the first sheet to transfer a unique design.
