Regular Programmes Sunday School- classes are held on Sundays after Worship Service Youth League – meetings are held after Church Service on Sundays Choir – practices are from 2.00 pm on all Sundays.

Sevika Sangham – meetings are held on Sundays after Worship Services. Prayer is arranged on every Fridays.

Edavaka Mission- Bible study is conducted by Rev.Sabu C Mathew on Fridays at 7.30 pm at willing members’ residences.

Area Prayer Meetings: Area prayer meetings can be arranged on 1st & 3rd Saturdays. Please contact Achen/Area Representatives or Secretary for arranging prayer at your residence.

REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES

Church Picnic: On 4th of June 2012 many of our members took a day off to enjoy the scenic beauty of Isle of Wight and more over to strengthen the bonhomie between them.

VBS: Our children had a blessed VBS from 7 th to 10th of June.

Sunday School Exam: Our children bowed down for 1 hour on 8th of July to show their knowledge from Bible.

AGM: Church AGM was held on 5th of August after the Holy Communion Service.

MESSAGE FROM THE VICAR Dearly beloved in Christ, “Blessed are the people of whose God is the Lord” (Psl.144:14b).

Let us be thankful to the Lord who is our God. It is because of his Grace that we are what we are. But never forget the fact that there are many innocent people in this world who are deprived of any celebrations in their lives. Now we enjoy summer, we could witness wonderful Olympic events and we are celebrating Onam. In Old Testament we see a God telling Israel to have certain celebrations in their community, because it would be an occasion to forget the pains, focuses to the future and to rejoice with all the rest of the community. It was a blessed occasion of Sharing and caring. We have a responsibility to make others happy whom we meet in our day to day life in this world, by our love, care and sharing. God blesses someone with the purpose to make him/her a blessing for many. The Question is: Am I a blessing? / Are we a blessing to the world and to the situation in which we are? “...I will bless you.....and you will be a blessing.”(Genesis 12:2) With Prayerful regards, Yours’ in Our Lord, Sabu achan.

THE NEW NORMAL A pastor, who was trained in trauma and grief counselling, commented that the greatest challenge for people who are hurting is often not the immediate heartache of the loss. Instead, the biggest problem is adjusting to the different kind of life that follows. What once was normal may never be normal again.

So the challenge for those offering help is to assist the sufferers as they establish the “new normal.” It may be a new normal that no longer includes robust health, a treasured relationship, or a satisfying job. Or it may be living without a loved one who has been taken in death. The gravity of such losses forces us to live a different kind of life—no matter how unwelcome it may be.

When our “new normal” comes, it’s easy to think no one understands how we feel. But that isn’t true.

Part of the reason Jesus came was to experience life among us, resulting in His present ministry: “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Heb. 4:15).

Our Savior lived a perfect life, yet He also knew the pains of a broken world. He endured sorrow; He suffered agony. And He stands ready to encourage us when the dark moments of life force us to embrace a new normal.

Father, thank You that in the darkest seasons of life, You will never abandon us. Guide us with Your never-failing presence through both the welcome and unwelcome changes of life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

In our desert of grief, Jesus can provide an oasis of hope.
