Thank you for your interest and support for Light of the North Star, an epic poem that tells the story of two empires from ancient Greece and India decades after the Trojan War and the flood that submerged the city of Dwaraka. Part I: The Descent is comprised of 8 chapters (i.e. “Books”) and will be published as the first of three parts that will constitute the entire work.

Update The audiobook has been successfully recorded by Dominic Keating (Star Trek) and Jean Gilpin (X-Men, Chronicles of Riddick), and is now in post-production. I am working with the studio to polish up the recording with additional sound effects, and we are on track to have this completed in the months ahead.

Across the Nation: National Poetry Month We just wrapped up National Poetry Month, and I attempted to do my part in tweeting a poem each day and continuing the tradition moving forward. The Academy of American Poets sends out a daily poem as part of its poem-a-day campaign, which I enjoy because it exposes me to poetry that I would not otherwise seek out or find on my own.

Notable: ‘Poetry in America’ TV and online series ‘Poetry in America’ is a new public television series and digital project created by Elisa New, a professor at Harvard, to promote poetry in America. It is filmed in a documentary style with guest interpreters including Bill Clinton, Shaquille O’Neal, Katie Couric, Nas, Regina Spektor, and Bono, among many others. The website features links to free online courses offered through Harvard and streaming options for the TV series with the latest addition, “Skyscraper” by Carl Sandburg.
