NEXThasexperiencedsignificantgrowthoverthepastthreeyearsandweareseekingafull-timeFiscalDirectorto leadfinanceandaccountingfunctions.NEXTcurrentlyusesQuickbooksOnlineandallrecordsaremaintained electronically OurphysicalofficeislocatedinNewYorkCity Thispositionrequiresagreatdealofexperienceand understandingofQuickBooksatanadvancedlevel.Youwillneedtobeaselfstarterandbeabletocompleteall workunderstrictdeadlinesaccurately.
EssentialFunctions
● EnsureNEXThastheproperfinancialcontrolsandsystemsinplacetoeffectivelygrowtheorganizationto ensurefinancialstrength,efficiency,andsustainability
● Month-endandyear-endclose,costallocationacrossallgrants,revenuerecognition,cashmanagement,and managementofrestrictedgrants
● Maintaingeneralledgerandmakeallappropriatejournalentries
● Budgetpreparationforindividualgrantsaswellastheorganization-widebudgetthatintegratesallindividual grantbudgets.Grant/budgetmanagementandbillingforeachgrantpercontract.
● Accountsreceivable.Ensurefundersarekeepingcurrentwiththegrantbilling.
● Timelypreparationandsubmissionofvouchersandreportingtofunders
● Costanalysisandallocationincompliancewithandacrosscontractswhichmightleadtotimelypreparation andsubmissionofbudgetmodifications
● Updateallocationsofexpenseswhentherearebudgetmodificationsornewfundingstreamsreceived
● Monthly,quarterly,andyearlyreportingtoorganizationalleadership,mustkeepmanagementproactively apprisedonallfiscalmatters
● Payandallocateacrossgrantsvendorinvoicesthroughcheck,onlinebankingorotherelectronicplatforms Requirements

● Minimumof10+yearssuccessfulnon-profitfinancialmanagementexperienceinpositionswithincreasing responsibility,strongaccounting,experiencewithauditsandgovernmentfunders
● Minimumof10+yearsexperiencewithQuickBooksOnline,specificallywithfundaccountingandor non-profitaccountingusingaclassingsystemtotrackeachgrantseparately.
● Minimumoftwofullaudits,workingwithauditors,preparingyearendclosingadjustingentriesforAR,AP, Prepaidexpensesaswellasrecordingofrestrictedfundbalancesforgrants.
● Advancedexcelexperienceandtheabilitytopreparegrantbudgetsandanalysisofvariousexpensesforthe audit
● High-levelknowledgeofGAAPfornon-profitaccountingandunderstandingofnon-profitcompliance requirements
● Timelyresponsivenesstoallinquiriesfrombothinsidetheorganizationandoutsidewithfunders
● Abilitytopresentfinancialinformationclearlyandconciselytopeoplewithlowlevelsoffinancialknowledge

● Experienceinamultistate/nationalorganizationaplus
