ID Badge

Your ID badge has many purposes e.g. it provides access to enter and leave college and acts as a library card. Most importantly, to keep our college community safe, all students, staff and visitors must wear an ID badge at all times when onsite.

Please make sure you wear your student ID card around your neck at all times when you are in college.

Attendance and Punctuality

We expect you to be present for 100% of your timetabled sessions and be in class on time. If you arrive after the start of your class you will be marked as late.

We understand that sometimes you may be unable to attend due to illness or an emergency, if this is the case you must let us know as quickly as possible by emailing studentabsence@newvic.ac.uk with a reason for your absence by 9 am. You must also complete an online absence form on ProPortal. Please note that only 2 authorised absences per term are allowed. Scan here to read the full student absence reporting procedure.

Positive Behaviour

We’re proud that our college is made up of a diverse and vibrant community of students and staff who work together, socialise, learn and develop in a safe, mutually supportive learning environment.

We want everyone to thrive in an atmosphere of mutual respect and we expect everyone to act as responsible, active citizens and demonstrate a positive attitude to learning and work whilst attending college.

• Respect your college community.

• Stay safe and help others stay safe.
