This even starts with the designing process. E.g., when designing our new cups, we make sure to pay attention to the ease of cleaning as to avoid any mold that could be harmful for baby’s health. A lot of the products themselves are tools that help babies go through a safe and healthy oral development, and they are made of safe, approved materials that are built to last.

Next to that, we are part of the largest chains worldwide that set high standards when it comes to safety. To guarantee this, we have several QC managers worldwide who closely monitor all applicable laws and standards worldwide in both design and production, and in our factories we have local QC units. For Europe, we mainly consider the EN standards (European normative) and the EU Regulations and Directives. For example, all our soothers comply with EN1400, the bottles and cups with EN14350, and the toys and teething rings with EN71. Of course, there are many other things to consider as well, such as: Food Contact EU 10/2011 for products that come into contact with food, EU 2009/48/CE for toys, etc.

A baby’s head will grow rapidly, particularly during the first 6 months. This is why we choose to offer a soother adapted to this age category. After the first 6 months the head grows more slowly and at the end of the 2nd year, the head circumference will be close to adult size!

Nail care It’s nerve-racking clipping a baby’s nails, but there’s no use putting it off. Their nails can cause some pretty serious scratches, to themselves or anyone else within arm’s reach. While their nails are generally quite soft, they can also be sharp and the skin of a newborn is so very delicate. Their motor control is yet to be refined, so their hands often go flailing.

Keeping your toddler’s nail short and clean can also help reduce both the spread of germs and frequency of sickness. Cutting their nails is too scary? Try using a nail file instead or try trimming right after a bath when nails are soft or when your baby is sleeping.

We are fiercely opposed to single-use plastics and built a business around products that are reusable time and time again, starting with polypropylene materials and evolving to the even more durable Tritantm from Eastman.

The toughness of the material increases product life and reduces waste compared with other polymers and glass, making other (single-use) items redundant..

RECYCLABLE PACKAGING

ECO STORY

Talking about packaging, this is another part of the story that has evolved drastically. We avoid plastic in our packaging wherever we can. Proof of this is that about 75% of all new products have a more sustainable packaging and a lot of packaging of older products was adjusted to an eco-friendlier alternative. And not to forget; our cardboard packaging is now made of 60% to 80% recycled cardboard.

COMPANY CULTURE

And last but not least, we also make some small contributions to our planet within the company.

We have severely reduced the travel activities in our international company and insist on online conferences.
