or the second year in a row, the Federal Government has failed to provide insurance cover for its
workers under the Group Life Insurance Policy. The failure on the part of the government has brought the total premium not remitted to about N12 billion for the year 2014 and 2015.
The policy is one of the Compulsory Insurances, which is expected to guarantee compensation for employees’ dependents in the event of death or permanent disability. It is also engrained in
the Pension Reform Act 2014. Reports at the beginning of the year had indicated that the Federal Government was set to pay about N6 billion premium to the underwriters cover-
ing its civil servants for the current fiscal year. New Telegraph, however, gathered from a highly placed source in the industry that the premium had not been received by
