he introduction of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) in 2013 by the Nigerian Communications Commission

(NCC) has continued to create wider service choices for telecoms subscribers as no fewer than 338,945 of them have changed operators since the introduction of the new regime. There

are over 150 million active lines in the country. New Telegraph gathered that the number of telephone lines ported out of one mobile network to another since the launch

of MNP in 2013 is based on the latest report released by the NCC. The total outgoing ported figure is coming even as the monthly porting hit 28,712 at the end of July,

rising from 21,153 in June. Etisalat topped the porting table by gaining the highest number of subscribers who migrated to its network. CONTINUED ON PAGE 4
