agenda as the 11th Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with a promise to gradually cut interest rate, thus aban-
doning the two-year-old hawkish monetary policy that cut inflation to a single digits, while maintaining the stability of the naira.
Emefiele, who assumed duty on Tuesday, at his maiden press conference in Abuja, also announced a reversal of the payment
system, initiated by his predecessor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, by directing banks to stop immediately all charges

wo soldiers were feared dead yesterday when an armoured tank stationed at the personal residence of Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo, exploded. Two others were seriously injured. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday traded barbs over the defection. The president fired the first salvo at a meeting of the National Executive
