any state governors now prefer travelling by chartered flights instead of making their
trips on commercial airliners, investigations by New Telegraph have shown. It was gathered that they preferred this method of travelling, which has
been described as convenient and time saving, because of security and poor airlines’ schedules. Investigations showed that except for a few of the
36 state governors, majority preferred this method of travelling not minding the cost to taxpayers. Sources in the aviation industry told New Tele-
graph that the amount of money spent on aircraft charter by the governors runs into several billions of naira annually. The minimum amount

oko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, in a new video released at the weekend claimed responsibility for the June 25 blasts near Folawiyo Energy fuel depot in Apapa, Lagos. He also said his terror group was behind another blast at a shopping mall in Abuja on the same day which killed 22 persons,
including the Managing Editor (North) of New Telegraph, Mr. Suleiman Bisalla. The mystery blasts in Lagos killed five persons and the suicide bomber was said to be dressed in hijab, apparently to conceal the identity of the terrorist.
