The Wind River Foundation brand identity design is carefully crafted to remain neutral to both tribes and to signify strength and heritage. The icon celebrates the (return of) the bison to the Wind River Reservation, which has deep cultural significance. The bison represents strength, survival, adaptability, respect, honor, and perseverance, but the icon also hints at a modern locator pin, signifying that the Foundation is location based. Through its positive upward motion, it shows the impact the Foundation strives to have on the community. The bold, thick, and all-upper-case typography underlines the strength of the community and Foundation alike.

Chignik Lagoon Native Corporation is an Alaska Native village corporation on the Alaska Peninsula. The community is primarily a fishing village – dependent on the sea for its livelihood; its ties to the land include a future in mineral exploration, and the village sprouted up in the shadow of Castle Cape, a craggy and mysterious rock formation that rises from the sea; Chignik means “big wind” in Aleut, and the village’s first commercial endeavor is an aviation service. Air, land, and sea are all represented, symbols of a small Native community defined like no other by its environment. The swirling wind patterns borrow a common Aleut beading style.

The Contemporary Cultural Centre logo has been inspired by the modern architecture of the building projected in 2013 by catalan Josep Lluis Mateo and portuguese Carlos Reis de Figueiredo. This iconic building located in the main square of Castelo Branco, in Portugal, is a reference in the city and holds an original and cutting edge shape, which is represented in profile by the three C’s in the logo. The 3D wireframe look relates to the metalic stucture of the building and the intersections reveal a set of fresh and vibrant colors inspired by the traditional embroidery of that region.

A lowercase ‘v’ (for ville] and an uppercase ‘A’ (for Antony) are combined to make a monogram for the city of Antony (France). The logo works like a construction game where the white space and the geometric shapes work in tandem to make the letterforms. With the stripes and its geometric appearance, the logo also evokes the coats of arm typical of French cities. Its sturdy and symmetrical nature gives the monogram a sober quality, the necessary visual strength and an elegant timelessness.

The mark focused on this idea of ‘echoing’ and has been developed from two upper case ‘E’ letter-forms, mirrored in negative space, echoing each other. Abel & Imray, Patent Prosecution Firm of the Year 2016, offer high quality advice, have many long-standing clients and are experts at handling complicated cases, but their brand made them appear old-fashioned and small. Taking the idea of protection, we developed a confident, contemporary brand identity that would reinforce their reputation, educate target audiences and help drive the company forward.

In changing times Wilsons solicitors needed all aspects of their brand updating without forgetting their 300 year history. A core idea of ’simply expert, thoroughly individual’ was developed. This central idea expresses the belief clearly running though Wilsons of simple and clear advice from individuals who care about the individuality of others. The branding reflects this idea of expertise and individuality, with an emphasis on craftsmanship running through everything.

Ake is a startup developing IA solutions and robotics to replicate human calligraphy for direct mail marketing applications. The name is a tribute to the Swedish sailor Åke Viking, who in 1956 meets his wife Paolina via a love letter sent out in a bottle – an incredible true story. A simple calligraphic wordmark acts as a link between Åke’s paradigmatic tale and the products, referring to the lost importance of handwritten communication.

Marechiaro is an Italian seafood restaurant, offering contemporary Mediterranean cuisine and top quality pizza. The name (”clear sea”) was inspired by an ancient village near Naples with a gorgeous sight of the bay, popular during the 60s in the “dolce vita” years. A stylized sunset over the sea contains the monogram, set in a geometric sans typeface. The style, minimal and bold, refers to old beach club signs.

A logo for the “Icelandic Museum of Natural History”. The logo combines on one hand, the symbol for one of the earliest natural fossilised cochlea that have been found in Iceland and on the other hand a symbol for “Museum”. The spiral/snail symbolises a museum which stores and preserves the history of Natures remnants. Furthermore the form indicates the letter “n” in lower case which is the first letter of the name of the museum in Icelandic: Náttúruminjasafn (Natures Museum). The green and yellow color represent the nature and are widely found in icelandic nature. The brown color in the name refers to the soil that preserves natures relics.

Haplogen is a young biopharmaceutical company with the mission to improve human health by combating infectious disease. To do this, haplogen creates human “knockout cells” in which each gene is present only once (“haploid” instead of “diploid”, without the usual “backup”). That makes it much easier in research to switch single genes on or off to see the effect. This reduction of the inheritable information of a cell to the bare minimum is – with typographical means – translated into the Haplogen logotype: The glyphs are reduced to the absolutely necessary components, but still remain legible.
