MESSAGE At VIT-AP, we believe in fostering an enriching environment where students are encourage to explore their creative selves and take pride in the work they do. VIT-AP features an array of clubs and chapters which offer student a life beyond academics.

Our clubs and chapters provide a recreational space to make new friendships, engage in collaborative work, and come up with creative work. Various club activities eventually lead students to develop a crucial skillset comprising teamwork, leadership, and event management.

At present, there are more than 76 clubs at the university which include technical, nontechnical, association and teams.

VIT-AP rolls the clubs and chapters is a compulsory extra curricular activity for the student. IT provides the opportunity for the students to enrich their skillsets.

I am happy that Newspaper Club has come up with the VITZINE magazine to showcase the various activities performed at VIT-AP. I congratulate the coordinator and the team for bringing the first edition.

It is a matter of great pride and pleasure that the newspaper club of VIT-AP university is coming up with its first issue of the magazine series, VITZINE - A very thoughtful, heartfelt, and creative work of the club members.

The idea of a newspaper club has always been more than just a means to disseminate information. It is to give a platform that voices the opinion of the students who believes in free expression of thought in a respectful and thoughtprovoking manner. This magazine series is an initiative towards the direction of bringing out the credible writers amongst the students, by letting them take part in the process as a participant rather than a spectator.

As the saying goes, ‘All big things have small humble beginnings ‘. The first issue of the magazine series tries to capture the soul of VIT-AP family. This issue of the magazine includes a very basic introduction of the university, its facilities, faculty members, staff, and different academic activities as well as the university life by different students. The members have gone to exceptional lengths to incorporate all the aspects in a very thoughtful manner. I cannot appreciate enough of the writing, editing, photography, and design skills shown by our students in the preparation of the magazine.

Watching them grow as capable young adults with such amazing skillsets is a wonderful feeling. These skills may turn out to be pivotal for their future endeavors.

I take great pride in this initiative and I congratulate all the contributors and editorial group for their sincere efforts in bringing out the magazine. This is the first issue of our magazine series.

Hopefully, we keep on going in all aspects in the future. I wish every success to this venture.

Welcome to the first issue of the monthly magazine VITZINE from Newspaper Club.

As VIT AP heading to the 5th Year of establishment, we are pleased to bring our readers- faculties, Ph.D.Scholars, educators, students, parents and staff –news on relevant topics about VIT Academics as well as Non-Academic activities.

VITZINE is a committed partner to VIT AP. In this Issue, we have some great editorial contributions from our faculties, seniors, and freshers. Information regarding the academic activities, patent submissions, placements, webinars conducted, clubs activities, celebrations in the month of September in VIT AP has also been documented in this Issue. Don’t pass by the 'Creative Corner' where you will find the delightful works and endowment of the students.

Among the amazing contributions, we have highlighted “Stories that Inspire” a walk-through into the life of our seniors Glen and Siri who overcame their challenges to attain their dreams. And don’t miss the offline College experience shared by faculty and students from 2019/2020. And while we include lots of academic and nonacademic activities on a range of topics you will find that this issue has a special focus on exploring festivals and delicious foods.

Publishing our very first magazine was not that easy as we planned. So I use this opportunity to express my gratitude towards Dr. Anupama Namburu, Dr. K. Samuel Johnson, Dr. Salini Rosaline, Dr. Himabindu, Dr.S.Karthikeyan, and Dr. Lisna P.C for guiding and mentoring throughout the process. Gandhi Jayanti is an event celebrated in India to mark the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. He is also known as the "Father of The Nation" and this title was given to him

CONVOCATION-2021 the University was held on Thursday, 23rd September 2021 at 06:00 PM (IST) in virtual mode.

Nobel Laureate Dr. M Stanley Whittingham of Binghamton University (SUNY), USA was the Chief Guest for the ceremony and delivered the Convocation Address. He was awarded the coveted Nobel Prize in 2019 for the development of lithium-ion batteries. Whittingham also inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi Block, Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy Block, Savithri Bhai Phule Block, Rock plaza (Student Activity Center).

I am a dancer and currently pursuing International Master in Business from SDA Bocconi Asia Center.

Alumni of VIT-AP. How did you become a dancer? Tell me about your journey.

I have loved to dance more than anything since my childhood. Becoming a good dancer. That was my childhood dream. Me being on the path itself makes me feel like I am living my dream. Dance makes me forget bounds and restrictions. It gives me freedom and joy. I can express the best of myself through dance and there's no way I would not dance. Well, self-trained but still learning and getting better day by day.

Describe the best performance you’ve ever put on. What did you learn from it?

My best performance was during the 2nd "Tera Time Agaya" event in VIT-AP. The song selection and choreography are very dear to me as my partner and I chose it together and we are likeminded. We sync so well in step creation. I love her. Her name is Valli. Who are you?

My name is Glen, a designer and a developer with a deep passion and emphasis on creating products that span multiple domains which in turn add value back to the society. Presently pursuing my Undergrad - final year at VIT-AP.

How did you become a designer and a developer?

Tell me about your journey Ever since I was a kid I used to be amazed by the extend to which a product can add value back to the society. Ten years back the resources were limited and Computer Science Engineering was the stream that matched my priorities. And now, three years into my Undergrad I'm really pleased with my decision, for I've been able to work on multiple projects and products. I always had a knack for design and product development. It was around my second year I realized that most of the projects students come up with lack a proper design structure.

Though the projects address the need for functionality they often fails to address proper user experience and a well defined user experience can go a long way to benefiting the product as well as the user down the road. Being proficient in design and development gave me a unique perspective to be able to design feasible elements that can be implemented likewise.

Although that was the case, in the beginning it was tough to balance both the domains since they require equal weightage of hours to be put in. But like any new obstacle, I decided to tackle it one step at a time and at present I've a list of projects on my portfolio that I was able to design and develop from scratch - a feat I'm really proud of.

In terms of my journey - to keep it short - my first year demanded my complete attention towards academic responsibilities but it was also a time I was driven by the need to explore the feasibility of combining both domains. It was just an idea in the beginning but towards my second year I decided to skill myself in the development domain.

It took me around a year to be confident in the development stacks. Towards my third year, I started learning about design, UI & UX in particular, and realized there's more to design than meets the eye. And likewise, I indulged myself in practicing both the domains throughout my third year, working on projects - bringing them to life, took sessions, and publishing my works got me an internship in one of the funded startups as a UI-UX Designer and Developer Intern.

What is the difference between UX and UI? To put it in layman terms - UX or User Experience - as the word suggests is about the experience that is delivered to the user while using the product. This phase involves researching and aligning the elements of the product in a proper flow - such that the end-user finds it intuitive and easy to use the product.

UI or User Interface refers to all the design elements that add to the aesthetics of a given product - it could range from the color of buttons to proper alignment.

Tell me about your most successful UX/UI design project.

One of the UX/UI design projects I'm happy about is a redesign I did for one of the clients on a freelance basis. It involved designing and developing their website. I particularly enjoyed doing the research about the company, taking in feedbacks, and helping them set a brand identity that could funnel in the traffic.

How do you respond to negative feedback?

Over the years feedbacks have played a major role in bringing out the best in my projects. Very often towards the end of my design and development process getting the end user feedback is an essential part.

Now that said, feedbacks need not be always positive and in scenarios as such I try to understand the feedback and make the required changes to accommodate the views if it deems fit.

Describe some of the challenges you faced initially and tell us how you had overcome?

Give a small talk to the young aspiring designer's out there.

Like any other domain learning a new skill set has its challenges. One of the key challenges I faced was in finding out the sweet-spot where I could balance and integrate both the design and development domains. Being an engineer at core the amount of exposure and resources I had for development side was comparatively more easy to access as compared to learning design from scratch. In the beginning it was tough to get the consistency in design - learning the principles is one whereas getting it to go hand in hand with the desired design takes practice.

Learning any new domain takes time and the key to mastering any skillset is practice. The more one practice, the more mistakes one gets to make and the more one learns from the mistakes. Never compare with someone who started the race before you. For every good project one sees out there there's a huge amount of unseen hours put in by the creator to bring it into life from a simple idea.

Time has never been better, so make use of all the resources out there, and rather than waiting to get your hands on the best resource - start working with one and gradually improve. Learning new domains makes you think and helps you to stay creative. Read books, seek mentorship from professionals, attend workshops, and above all love what you do.

The key to learning any new domain is to practice consistently and make mistakes and learn from them and since there was no external pressure and since it was all on my own accord - the pursuit of having to master both domains - I found it really enjoyable though in the beginning it was tough to get the footing.

DR. DEEPJOY KATUWAL When did you join VIT? I joined VIT on 10th of July 2020.

What was your reaction after seeing the campus for the first time?

Most of the construction had already happened by the time I came. Still, new construction was going on. But, it was not as it was now. Between then and now a lot of construction happened. I was surprised to see the surroundings of the campus, and the size of the campus is huge. Now, it is better and more complete.

What was your experience in the first year of joining?

It was a different kind of experience because mostly it was at home and I had been in the campus for only 6 months. And added that so far it is fine.

How was the experience in online mode?

It was quite difficult in the beginning teaching online classes every day because we used to talk to human beings face to face. Suddenly, we were in a different world where everything is online. It took some time to get used to it.

Dr. Deepjoy Katuwal, Assistant Professor, School of Social Sciences and Humanities What difficulties did you face while teaching online?

There were a lot of logistical difficulties like powercut, Wi-Fi problems, etc. Beyond that when it comes to teaching and learning, the main difference was that the reaction of students is apparent when it comes to a classroom. But in online mode the physical feedback was missing.

Which is better online mode or offline mode?

Online teaching was eventually going to come but because of this pandemic it happened earlier within 2 years, which might have taken 10 to 15 years.

Still I was biased towards offline teaching because I was trained in that and we all grew up studying in offline mode. Online teaching is best in some mediums especially were it is not possible to attend physically for some world class lectures, webinars etc.

Both have some advantages as well as disadvantages.

We are back on campus with more facilities and infrastructure. What are your thoughts regarding this?

It is a good thing. We know that in India when it comes to higher education, infrastructure is the major issue and our university is putting a lot of efforts in bringing more result which is a good thing. If we want to make India a global destination of education then we can’t skip that part. It has to be done.

It feels good as lot of resources have been used and in terms of infrastructure VIT has good infrastructure.

Overall experience with VIT till now?

So far it has been better than what I have experienced elsewhere.

How is VIT different from other campuses?

I don’t have experience working in other engineering colleges.

But, I have taught in a traditional degree college before.

It was a different experience and the approach is also different. Here, most of the teachers and students have a particular set of priorities and think in a different way which is really interesting and good. It was a problem orientedthinking.

Message to your colleagues.

My message to new colleagues would be to take it as a new experience. If you take it as a challenge to prove, to grow and improve then you are going to enjoy. The work pressure and work culture in VIT is also better than many other places.

Message for students.

To be able to do engineering courses (in CSE) at this point of time itself is an opportunity that you can never get. Millions of jobs are available in India, US, Europe and everywhere related to Computer Science. All of you are very fortunate to be doing these courses purely from professional perspective. But even from real perspective Computer Science is changing our everyday life. There is an opportunity for you to make a huge impact which is not possible for many other disciplines. So, it is a great time to be studying this course.

DR. PRAGYA SEN GUPTA I joined VIT-AP around May 2018. Probably on 10th May 2018. When I joined, the counseling for the second batch was taking place. My opinion on university at the start was neutral. I thought facilities and infrastructure wouldn't be as good but VIT-AP was beyond my expectations. I was given a separate cabin, was provided with a laptop, a phone, and the freedom to do researches, teach, etc. At the start, I was assigned 48-50 students and I felt my experience in the first year of joining was great. This was my first job and I was pretty satisfied with the job until the pandemic hit.

The online mode made things difficult. I didn't feel like teaching in online mode as I am a language teacher and I am not very much interested in using gadgets. I faced certain internet issues and couldn't hear the students properly.

The first term in online mode was hectic as there were few students who made disturbances during class and there were few who were interested in listening. But, I felt offline mode was far better as we can see the students listening. Although I have tried keep the class interactive few students feel sleepy and don't tend to reply in classes.

On the pro side, assignments are being submitted on time, quizzes are easy to conduct and evaluation is easy. I miss the fun of an interactive session. I believe that if few people are enthusiastic to learn, automatically others would be interactive.

In offline class, it takes 5 minutes for doubt clearance, and after a few minutes, when students feel exhausted, I would take up something interactive.

I feel a mix of online and offline mode of teaching will be great.

Exams and quizzes are great in online mode. But, theory is better in offline mode as students will be active. In online mode, students are just going through ppts and replacing words for a question. It is not possible to check whether every student is understanding or not in online mode.

In this pandemic, a lot of construction happened like activity centers, labs, etc.

Hopefully, everybody can enjoy the facilities completely from next semester when pandemic comes to an end. I term this phase as "endemic".

There are many industries and institutions and other industries who failed in the pandemic but VIT-AP and teachers didn't face this as they were able to adapt to new changes.

My overall experience in VIT-AP is good. I am enjoying a new learning experience. I learnt to do everything on excel which I didn't know before.

Other institutions are using Google Meet or other platforms and teachers have to show their faces. VIT-AP doesn't have such restrictions for both students and teachers.

Exams are conducted in Codetantra which is a strict environment and equal to writing exams in college.

My message to my colleagues would be to learn and interact with classmates more.

Due to the pandemic, sticking to a subject has decreased. So, I would suggest to the students to focus on what you they are studying.

Start to read newspaper, explore facilities, the internet etc, and learn something which is helpful.

Take care of your health. I mainly suggest them to learn more and make appropriate use of time.

What was your first thought after seeing the campus?

Hisham: The first time I came to the campus, it was not as big as it is right now. It did not have the Central Block, the Student Activity Centre, and many other buildings. Back then, it was just AB1 and AB2, but AB2 wasn’t open in the initial weeks. As for the hostels, there were 2 men's hostels and one ladies’ hostel. It was grand, but not like a university.

Riya: When I came to the campus, I didn’t expect much from it. As, when I went for counseling, I knew that it was still under construction. So, I was happy with what it was because I wasn’t expecting much. Before, only AB1 was there and B2 was still in construction. The hostels were good.

What difficulties did you face in your first year?

Hisham: In the first year, we were all new and we had to get used to interacting with the faculties as back in schools we had a different culture where there was no friendly bond. It was like they were teachers and we were just learning and going back. Over here, the faculties were extremely friendly and they frequently interacted with us. They even initiated conversations and talked about projects. So it was nice. I wouldn’t call that a difficulty but this is what I felt.

Riya: I don’t think I faced any difficulty in the 1st year. Everything was smooth and everything went pretty well.

Since we are back in campus, there are more infrastructure and facilities.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hisham: It was a new place when I first entered. There was the Central block which was grand and there are a lot of new buildings. But they are inaccessible.

Riya: The university is looking good. There are many buildings now. We are not used to seeing so many buildings. But we don't have access to it. So hopefully they will open soon.

Give your thoughts on how this pandemic affected your college life.

Hisham: To me, it has not. There was absolutely no difference, except for not being able to work hands on for certain projects. One of our projects was delayed because we did not have an access to the material and the facilities the university provides, and the mechanical lab was off- access.

Riya: For me, it has affected my college life. Because, I wasn’t able to do projects at home. Academics-wise, it’s better in classroom for me. Other things like conducting events, being there as a part of the university were also missing.

What challenges did you face in the online mode?

Hisham: As I said before, I did not face any challenges. But some friendly interactions were missing. Some of our trips where all of my friends went together was missing. Academics-wise, I didn't have any issue.

Riya: Same for me. Academics were going good but the university life, like friends and hostel, was missing.

What is your message to your juniors?

Hisham: When I was a fresher, there was a culture of running towards GPA. Although we had ECS for our projects, there were not many people who were actually into it. So, what I would suggest is, GPA will come to you. You just open up to projects more.

Riya: I would say, All the best! Make the most out of university life. It’s only four years. Don’t just run behind CGPA, participate in everything. Make sure you do well in CATs and in other activities too. Make lots of new friends and go on lots of trips.

First thought after seeing the campus

Namrata: I felt nervous by seeing the size of the campus.

Priyam: The campus looked much bigger than it did in the photos.

Since 2020 batch had online classes from the start, how did you manage to make friends and get to know each other?

Namrata: We have all of our classes on MS Teams.Through teams, we were able to chat with any person we shared a class a with.

Priyam: Through WhatsApp groups, we could connect and have a conversation with any person. After arriving on campus, we went up to the people we knew through chats and spoke to them. From there it has been a smooth process.

Changes one has to go through when moving from college life to university life?

Namrata: We need to step out of our comfort zone and socialize with people.

Priyam: In college, we experience spoon-feeding but in university less information is available on the topics we study. In order to not miss out on the stuff being taught we need to be very attentive, discuss frequently with others and adapt to our surroundings fast.

Namrata: Faculty members are more interactive and jovial in offline mode. They care about each student and teach everything in detail. Seniors support us in every matter.

Priyam: Faculty members are very accommodating and always ready to help. Seniors are like our friends.

Opinion on offline mode

Namrata: The biggest disadvantage we face is that we are required to sit in one place without moving around to attend our classes. This results in some of us facing health problems.

Priyam: It easy to slack as there is no one around us. In offline mode, we need to maintain discipline and there is friendly competition among our friends so it becomes difficult to slack.

As no one responds much in online mode, offline mode is more interactive and motivating.

Overall experience in VIT-AP (till date)

Namrata: In the beginning, felt a little nervous. As time went by felt much more comfortable and got used to things. We also have many facilities in which some are yet to open. In conclusion, like my experience over here.

Priyam: Enjoying the campus life, we can go out to meet and spend time with our friends. We get to perform experiments in actual labs. In conclusion, it is very exciting.

My first encounter with HER: 14 April 2002, when the first light of dawn hit my granny’s small twinkling eyes after holding out against a very fierce and violent thunderstorm, a cry was heard, a big broad smile took charge of my granny’s fatigued and drowsy face. This marked the arrival of an unusual guest, a guest-turned-member. I was born.

The faint memory of my body remembers the first touch of an extraordinarily pleasant and exceptionally kind woman, I did not know then. It was that of my beautiful and loving mother.

The Multitasking Specialist: Gender discrimination, Racism, and many other evils that plague society was very unaccustomed and unheard-of for me because I grew up seeing my mother work, cook, wonderfully manage everything, and my father actively supporting her throughout.

Women working, earning, and standing up for themselves was just normal for me on the other hand the harsh realities of society were far away from my wildest imaginations. It’s worth mentioning that there was a point in time when my mom was the breadwinner of the family. We as a family take pride in saying that she stood as a solid rock bottom on which we built the foundation of our beautiful family.

28 June 2008, Hustling and bustling all around, whirring sound of the busy planes take off and land and pint-sized me wondering how air travel would be like squeezing the little finger of my mother whenever I saw a plane land through the big and magnificent glass that boasted about its astounding view, a sweet little serene face of my 8 months old sister popped out in surprise from my mom’s shoulder as soon as the plane on which we had to board landed and heartfelt goodbyes from my father who got a contract to work for the following year. The boarding pass read Hyderabad to Dubai to Eritrea.

Eritrea, a northeast African country on the Red Sea coast as google reads it to be and a famous description of a woman who held a baby by her arms and a knee height girl beside her was that of my mother, these were two of my profound memories in Eritrea. It is really a herculean task for women to survive in an unknown country . Thus, breaking all the stereotypes she did stand for us. Facing all the odds she plucked up courage putting her career at the front foot and the fact that we never thought she did even one percent less for us at home. In the cold and freezing mornings of Eritrea, she used to wake up at 4 a.m in the morning to make sure she cooked for us and also completed all the domestic activities, not a day did she compromise with her rigid schedule. Those sweet-sour days of my life were spent by me, waiting for a day where I would feel proud of myself as much as I am of my mother.

4 July 2012, butterflies in my stomach out of an overwhelming emotion of a transition in my life, a fantasy that was to come true that is “life in India". The plane landed an hour after the crack of dawn, huge amount of baggage surrounded me while waiting for the taxi. It was a sultry and hot classic Mumbai climate day. Over the years ”Life in India” changed my perception of mom, because all the while I thought that she was working for a necessity but then I realized that it was never for the necessity and more for the fact that she loved her profession. The terrible six months that she spent at home without working for settling us in India were more than ghastliest nightmares for her.

Thus, the true essence of life peeped into the little box on top of my neck to tickle its nerves to imbibe values that set the basis of my existence

The laws today are more lenient and complex and the ways of circumventing let it has at times also been amply demonstrated.

Hence to completely do away with capital punishment,

would

even

remove

the

psychological fear in the minds of criminals, to deter them from criminal acts.

The only argument against capital punishment is that it is irrevocable. Justice is not fallible, and at times valuable lives have been lost due to its miscarriage. This calls for greater care and scientific investigation in awarding this form of punishment, rather than doing away with it altogether. We have before us examples of countries like Italy, India, and Holland, where the cases of murder and other heinous crimes have increased, consequent to the abolishment of the death penalty. These countries are in the process of rethinking the same. There is, therefore, no conceivable reason to abolish this form of punishment in India.

What is, therefore required, is not the abolishment of capital punishment, but a thorough review of the present judicial system and a more scientific approach

to

an

investigation

by

the

law

enforcement agencies. Only by having a just and dynamic legal system, can the criminals be promptly brought to book. The death penalty should be awarded in the rarest of the rare case, as it is advisable to let a hundred criminals go scot-free than to hang an innocent person.

Give a rich man $1000 he returns with $100,000. Give a broke man $1000 he returns with a new iPhone. This is what the reality is…. Poor people with mental health issues are crazy, Rich people with mental health issues are eccentric.

Let me get this straight, you think money buys happiness? The rich answers of course not. Money can’t buy happiness. The poor says it does, and I’m tired of pretending it doesn’t. That’s just a lie rich people tell poor people to keep them from rioting.

The comfort of the rich depends upon an abundant supply of the poor. every

single poor person works harder than the rich, no exceptions. Being poor is a full-time job that drains all your emotional energy and labor on top of that is extra.

If you do rich people stuff like investing money in market trends and not to jump on every trend, to live in the future not in the past, to learn something new every weekend not to party every weekend, not to think small…think big, eventually you will be rich, but these broke people always prefer to do broke stuff and eventually they remain poor.

If you’re a first-generation immigrant. Your kids becoming doctors is the quickest way you can turn it around in one generation. Instant credibility, instant respectability, instant money. Right? you flip the clan narrative around. BOOM! And its also weird because broke parents are also the cast group of people you can ever convince to see a doctor.

There’s nothing…their mom can have an arrow going right through her and she’s trying to pull it out like Rambo. And they’re like “yo, mom let’s go see a doctor” and mom will be like ’no’ they just want to take people’s money.

One more thing is poor people are affected by diseases like fever, cold, cough, etc. but rich get affected by richer diseases like acute morning sickness, palpitations, heart murmur, etc.

I wondered when I gone through internet searching about them. That stuff doesn’t make sense as per me.

I would like to add one more thing about the mindset of broke people. They want their kids to be doctors. It was like obsession and its insidious as well…because helping people is like on the bottom of the list of reasons. Oh, if it even makes the list of reasons to go into medicine helping people is like the unfortunate byproduct of becoming a health care professional. It’s about the money and the prestige. GIRL CHILD HARASSMENT ARTICLE BY PATTAN SHEKSHAVAL We people usually watch on our televisions, hear on radios about harassment of a girl child. We feel very angry with those criminal guys right… sometimes we even feel to kill them. But we cannot do anything like that, it is the police's duty they should only punish them. But still, we can do something for all the girls in our society, we can spread awareness among people by making them know about these acts.

Previously, girls were not allowed to come out of their house but now girls are coming out to study, to work. But parents are worried about their girl that “what will happen if she goes out alone?? " According to the recently released NCRB data, 32,608 cases were reported in 2017 while 39,827 cases were reported under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

As many as 109 children were sexually abused every day in India in 2018, according to the data by the National Crime Record Bureau, which showed a 22 percent jump in such cases from the previous year.

POCSO Act, 2012 is a comprehensive law to provide for the protection of children from offenses of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and pornography. It requires special treatment of cases relating to child sexual abuse such as setting-up of special courts, special prosecutors, and support persons for child victims.

As many as 21,605 child rapes were recorded in 2018 which include 21,401 rapes of girls. The highest number of child rapes were recorded in Maharashtra at 2,832 followed by Uttar Pradesh at 2,023 and Tamil Nadu at 1,457.

Effective steps regarding save girl child: The position of girl child in Indian society is backward since ages because of the extreme desire of parents for the boy-child. It has created gender inequality in society and has been very necessary to remove by bringing gender equality.

Illiteracy is another issue which can be removed through proper education systems for both genders. Empowering women is the most effective tool to save girl child. People should be aware through some effective campaigns regarding save the girl child. A girl child should be given equal access and opportunities in every field.

Family members of a girl child can be better target to make save the girl child campaign successful.

Conclusion: A girl child should not be killed, hated or disrespected. She should be saved, loved and respected for the betterment of society and country. Girls mainly, must have support from their parents and family to do anything, if the basic support is with them then can do anything. Parents must support their girl in all the aspects. Parents as well as societies influence on a girl should be there to motivate her to do things as equally to boys so that a girl can feel more confident that everyone is with her, and on her low time she doesn’t feel demotivated.

STRAIGHT AND CLEAR Neglect in the early years can have a long-standing impact across the whole spectrum of children’s development, and throughout the life span. Early intervention and support for families where neglect is identified is therefore of utmost importance in safeguarding children from harm.

SOCIAL INFLUENCE ON TEENAGERS YEPURI AARTHI HASITHA 20BCE7110 The behavior of teenagers and their ideas are often ridiculed by society. We often hear the words like “Oh, I am fed up with these teenagers, they never listen to the elders” or the parents complaining that their children are having anger issues. The problems that young people face or the mental issues they go through are not considered seriously until recently. Anxiety and depression are considered seriously only in the past few years. We need to understand the whole situation and try to comfort them by talking to them instead of just passing a statement that he/she is having issues and need to change their behavior immediately.

The truth underlying the whole so-called “Teenage issues” is that society plays an important role and indirectly the elder people and social media plays a vital role. There are numerous instances where children get into bad influences due to family problems. The scenario with the teenagers is that they want to have their own identity and sometimes they behave as if they know everything but the family should be mature enough to handle the situation.

Society plays such a big role because intentionally or unintentionally young people try to do the things which give them attention, which is seen as cool or trendy in the eyes of the society.

Sometimes teenagers do need mental strength to go against some bad trend, to say no to their friends. Think of you in a situation where your whole friend group is interested in doing something and even if you do not like it you will be forced to do it and peer pressure comes into the place. Handling the peer pressure situations is not an easy task even for adults because you should have the mental strength to stick to your thoughts and to stand against all the odds. Now if a teenager whose family does not understand has a group of friends who are trying to understand him he will definitely be close to the friend group and follow their path even if it’s bad or good.

Eventually the family starts complaining about the child for not spending time, not giving respect and then they will start blaming the whole teenagers and their behavior. Parents or the elders should understand that unless you start understanding the thought process of teenagers the problem will not be solved.

It is ironic that the society also highlights the misbehavior or the bad track of teenagers when it itself is responsible. We often see TV channels and social media highlighting the issues where a teenager did something ridiculous and risked full tasks. They give publicity and more teenagers will decide on doing the same and when something goes wrong they blame the immaturity of the teenagers. There are very few instances where the news channels have highlighted anxiety, depression and pressure faced by the youth. Society is more enthusiastic to know about the things in the entertainment world than to focus on issues like this and pitifully these are still taboos in our country. Thankfully people are getting educated about these issues but, Are we acting in that direction is a big question which needs to be analyzed. People say children and the youth are the backbone of a country, if that’s the case you should pay attention to their ideas, their problems and firstly you should be ready to listen to their concerns instead of just pushing them away and blaming them.

Lastly, the social influence on teenagers is huge and the decisions they make are influenced to a great extent by friends and family. The family and friends should be able to understand each other and help each other to tackle the problems and when this happens hopefully the teenage period will be less problematic and more joyful.

UNDERWATER MUSIC FESTIVAL LOOE KEY REEF, FLORIDA, USA Located in Florida Keys in the United States’ only living coral barrier reef, the Underwater Music Festival has been running for 31 years. A local radio station sponsors the event to promote environmental sustainability and responsible diving. They play their sea-themed music underwater through speakers that are suspended under boats situated above the reef. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and play “underwater instruments” to compete for prizes.

Known to the Spanish locals as El Colacho, this festival happens 60 days after Easter during the feast of Corpus Christi. The Baby Jumping Festival is a baptismal ceremony where babies who were born over the last year are absolved of sin. The religious custom dates back to the early 1600s. Men dressed in traditional “devilish” clothing terrorize the crowd before running down the street and jumping over the babies who have been carefully laid out on pillows. Till now no injuries have been reported, but the Catholic higher-ups frown upon the ritual.

SYDNEY GAY AND LESBIAN MARDI GRAS SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA A true celebration of love in all its forms, the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has been showering Sydney with a glittering rainbow every March since 1978. Back then, it was more of a protest than a celebration, which sadly ended in police violence, but today the parade and the surrounding parties and events are wholly embraced as one of the city’s flagship events, attracting a huge swell of international visitors.

The highlight of the celebrations is the parade along Oxford Street, a bedazzled display of flesh and feathers. And while you might cop an eyeful of more cheek than you care to see, it’s all done with good-natured, inclusive, humorous fun.

La Tomatina Festival happens annually during the last Wednesday of August. The festival came to be when in 1945 some young boys decided to get a place among the retinue of a parade during the town festivities. The energy of these teens made one participant fall. The participant got mad and started to hit everything like a vegetable stall. From this people started to pelt each other with tomatoes.

La Tomatina Festival begins at 12 AM with a bang. Trucks loaded with tomatoes proceed to drive through the fight area while some locals in the back of the trucks throw tomatoes at all of the festival goers. As soon as the truck passes, everyone is scooping for tomatoes from the ground to get themselves armed for the battle. The following hour will be one of the most intense and hilarious experiences of your life.

(TURKISH) KUMPIR Kumpir are Turkish style baked potatoes once they come out of the oven they are cut open and the soft potato inside is mixed together with butter and cheese until it's smooth and creamy. It is served with an endless amount of vegetarian and meat toppings, and often a sauce of some sort.

The base for a Turkish baked potato recipe always remains the same; large potatoes, butter, cheese and a bit of seasoning. The flesh of the baked potato is used to create a deliciously cheesy, and creamy filling, upon which a bunch of toppings such as mayonnaise, gravy, ground meat and vegetables are added.

French Toast Omelette Sandwich is made up of beaten eggs, bread and your choice of fillings like tomato, onion, cheese, lettuce and seasoning.

Beaten eggs are added into a frying pan with a bit of butter and add two slices of bread before the eggs set completely. Dip the breads in the eggs. This technique is very similar to making French toast.

Flip the entire egg-and-bread mixture over to cook the remaining side of the egg-soaked bread, then add your desired toppings. Close the sandwich by tucking in the excess egg and continue to cook until the bread is browned.
