Local Art for National League

By Rachael VAUGHAN ALL Year 10 students at Irrawang High School participated in the World of Work (WOW), a school to work transition program held over 3 days this week at the Raymond Terrace Bowling Club. The intention of WOW program was to provide students with the skills to become more articulate, confident and well mannered, to provide the students with a solid grounding in manners and social graces, to help our students transition from school to work, further education or training, and to to build confidence and the ability to relate to members of the community, whilst in a comfortable albeit unfamiliar setting. The course covered many topics including; making the right first impression, creating and maintaining your own brand, interview skills, table etiquette, personal hygiene and presentation, goal setting, team building and communication skills. Each day six community/business representatives had lunch with students, which according to the student feedback forms was a highlight of the day for many of
