Port Stephens Council elects Deputy Mayor By Tara CAMPBELL COUNCILLOR Steve Tucker has been elected Deputy Mayor of Port Stephens Council. Following the first Port Stephens Council meeting for the year, Central Ward Councillor Steve Tucker was elected to fill the position of Deputy Mayor for twelve months. Cr Steve Tucker ran uncontested for the position, resulting in no formal vote to be recorded. The previous Deputy Mayor of Port Stephens Council was Councillor Paul Le Mottee who was unable to run for Port Stephens Council this term following a technical error. Deputy Mayor Tucker joins four other re-elected councillors and reelected Mayor Ryan Palmer on the council this term.
