An out-of-control transport truck hauling stone crashed its way down Mountain Street in Grimsby last Friday afternoon taking out several cars and a telephone pole before wedging its way into the front lawn of St. John’s Presbyterian Church. The woman with her arm raised was the driver of the car knocked onto the lawn at 13 Mountain Street. Williscraft - Photo

By Mike Williscraft NewsNow In what has become an all-toofamiliar scene, Mountain Street in Grimsby was awash in broken glass, pieces of metal and damaged vehicles Friday afternoon.

Again!

“I don’t know how nobody was hurt in all this,” said eyewitness Brandy Ireland. A little after 3 p.m. a transport hauling a full load of stone careened through the intersection of Mountain and Elm clipping two

cars, an SUV and broadsiding a pickup truck. “I heard the first crash and looked down the road to see the transport coming,” said Ireland, who was sitting on the rocks at the corner of Mountain and Main

Street at the time. “The transport pushed the pickup all the way down the road until it got pinned at the church. It’s a miracle the lady in the truck was not seriously hurt.” See TRUCK, Page 2
