Peach Kings mural unveiling October 5

The community is invited out to the unveiling of the Grimsby Peach Kings mural on Sunday, Oct. 5. The photomural celebrates the history and achievements of the Grimsby Peach Kings. The public can view the mural beginning at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. there will be a Peach Kings alumni photo in the lobby and at 7:30 p.m. a presentation at centre ice. Stay for the game at 7:30 p.m. and cheer on this year’s team for $7 per person.

By Mike Williscraft NewsNow A missed stop sign resulted in the death of a 74-year-old Niagaraon-the-Lake man Monday night. Niagara Regional Police’s collision reconstruction team was called in to determine exactly what happened when a 2001 Pontiac Montana van collided with a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta at about 5:30 p.m. at Ontario Street and Niagara bound QEW ramp.

Investigators have determined the van was travelling east along the QEW access road on the south side of the QEW. It was occupied by a 74-yearold male driver and his 70-year-old passenger, both from Niagara-on-the-Lake. The Pontiac continued east and approached the intersection at Ontario Street.
