Pillar of Lincoln, Fleming, dead at 91 A celebration of the life of Art Fleming will take place on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 4360 Jackson St. on the Fleming family property at 2 p.m. Fleming died Oct. 12 in his 91st year. “Art will be missed, always a quiet, gentle soul, he and Val were generous with their time and always stepped up whenever the community asked,” said MP Dean Allison. Fleming was born in Louth Township, Lincoln, Ontario to Aubrey DeWitt Fleming and Elma Margaret (Merritt) Fleming Nov. 24, 1923. He lived his entire life on the land that had been in his family since 1843. He finished high school at Beamsville District Secondary School and worked with his widowed mother to build their chick hatching business. In 1948, Art met the love of his life, Val Shillington.

Coach Canada to end Niagara bus service

By Mike Williscraft NewsNow Pending service cuts by Coach Canada is not sitting well with Niagara West customers, nor local officials. Coach Canada announced last week it would cease service connecting Hamilton through See ART, Page 3 Niagara with a reduction from

five trips to Niagara Falls down to four, and eliminating the run entirely at some point in 2015. John Crowley of Coach Canada said the expansion of GO Transit, which receives major government subsidies, has pushed the company in this direction. GO has experimented with expanding its service into Niagara

for years and has a bus connection at Casablanca Boulevard/ QEW. Plans are in the works to expand GO’s service with both bus and rail in the coming years, but no specific timetable has been established. The reduction of service and the change in connection from See BUS, Page 2
