Site alteration by-law draws concerns West Lincoln council looks to protect safety with land use controls By Mike Williscraft NewsNow A site alteration by-law which designed to give township officials some level of control land use brought more than a dozen property owners to West Lincoln Council Monday night. Council has been working for months developing a by-law to

gain some control over property owners who are accepting “fill” that has not been subject to testing and little is known about its content. There are several major sites in West Lincoln seeing this activity, including one on Grimsby Road and another on Hwy. 20. Noting council has been listening to the input of the township’s land-

owners, particularly farmers, Coun. Terry Bell said it is a difficult job. “We’ve been working on this a long time. We’ve had a lot of discussion. We’ve had a public meeting and we’ll have another,” said Bell. “We have heard and acted, changing the draft by-law based on comments we have received.” See BY-LAW, Page 3
