Dim light at end of long tunnel appears Ida’s three-year cancer battle continues

NewsNow readers will recall the epic cancer battle which began for Ida in the early month of 2014. What started as a nuisance sore on her nose in 1998 - and was thought to be removed and dealt with - had materialized again as a basal
cell carcinoma, the most common form of cancer. It rarely metastasizes or kills but can cause significant destruction and disfigurement by invading surrounding tissues. About three-in-10 people will develop a basal-cell cancer in their lifetime with about 80 per cent of those cancers developing on the head and neck.
