Up Front Hired Hitmen make return Fans of 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll will want to make their way to Charles Daley Park next week for a rescheduled concert by The Hired Hitmen. Their initial date at the Sunset Music Series was cancelled due to thunderstorms. Popular local musician Sandy Vine fronts the band, which kicks out a veritable jukebox of hits. The concert starts at 7 p.m., with Butterballs Express providing BBQ fare and Eco-Defenders offering ice cream treats for purchase from 5:30 p.m.
Jordan Lions host wing nite Everybody has to eat, so why not give Jordan Lions Wing Nite a try, says Lions president Ray Dykstra. Friday, Aug. 15, at Jordan Lions Park from 6-8:30 p.m., all-you-can-eat wings will be up for grabs for $15, with proceeds to community groups. The event is licensed.

By Mike Williscraft NewsNow Motorists with electric-powered vehicles may be able to get a charge out of going to Grimsby’s downtown by next week. As a result of a multilevel partnership and the generosity of a local businessman, Grimsby will have two new 90-amp charge stations ready to go next Thursday. “The installation is planned for Thursday, Aug 7. I’m not sure if they will be activated that day but I believe that is the plan,” said Tony Quirk, Downtown Improvement Area Board chair. The DIA, along with the Town of Grimsby, Grimsby Power and businessman Jaff Stevenson have all partnered to make this innovation come to life. “The electric vehicle station is a fantastic addition to our downtown as we highlight how ‘friendly by nature’ we are,” said Quirk. “We will be featured as the only public charging station between
