Up Front Lincoln prepares to welcome 2015 The mayor and council of the Town of Lincoln is inviting the community to come celebrate the arrival of the new year. A New Year’s Levee is planned for Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Municipal Offices on 4800 South Service Rd, Beamsville from 2-4 p.m. There will be wine sampling with Kacaba, Rosewood and Sue-Ann Staff wineries. The face of happiness The 9th annual Community Christmas Dinner hosted by Village of Hope at Great Lakes Christian High School in Beamsville took place Dec. 23. The most Unique award goes to 6 Colonial Crescent and the Brightest award goes to 124 Lakeside Drive. The homeowners will be presented with certificates in January.

basking in the glow of the holiday season, Beamsville’s Konkle family was dealing the sudden passing of Kathy Konkle from an apparent stroke. Kathy was a huge fan of the Grimsby Peach Kings and of her son, Mike, who plays for the Jr. C squad. She
had not missed a game in years, until this past Sunday. “Everyone was in shock,” said Peach Kings coach Dave Brownridge. “She was a very nice, vibrant lady and Mike’s a great kid. I was talking with him on an ongoing basis. We left things completely up to him
as we did not know when he would be ready to play.” As soon as news of Kathy’s passing hit the organization, teammates jumped in with their support of Mike. “The boys are a tight-knit group and they all got in touch with Mike as soon as
