Grimsby transportation system one step closer By Mike Williscraft NewsNow Grimsby’s Christmas wish list got a little longer at Monday night’s Administration & Finance Committee meeting. The largest ticket item on the agenda was committee’s approval advancing to Phase II
of its Transit Investigation Study. Project manager Dennis Kar made an indepth presentation to the committee, highlighting several key recommendations: • first-year operating investment $870,000; Year 5, $1.03 million. This contribution would be offset by fare revenue, gas tax contribu-
tions and potential sponsorships; • three routes could be set • start-up would have service Mon-Fri, 6 a.m.6 p.m., no service on Sundays • a connection to Beamsville could be negotiated See BUDGET, Page 2
