Greenlane/Ontario project approved for 8/9 storeys By Mike Williscraft NewsNow After a lengthy and thorough debate Homes By DeSantis’ proposed 346-unit condo complex slated for Greenlane Road and Ontario Street was given the greenlight with a 5-4 vote at Lincoln’s Committee of the Whole meeting Monday night.
Several delegations attended the virtual meeting to speak against the project for a host of reasons ranging from mass, to basic design issues to density and traffic concerns. Many members of council also had significant reservations and wanted further concessions, but the majority agreed with a staff report which gave
its approval to what had been proposed. The only amendment to the staff report was “to include an additional 82 square metres of dedicated commercial space along the Greenlane Road frontage (amounting to 650 square metres or 7,000 square feet total) with the remainder of the Greenlane
Road ground floor frontage being zoned as flex space where both residential and commercial land-uses are permitted.” Mayor Sandra Easton and Councillors Paul MacPherson, JD Pachereva, Greg Reimer and Lynn Timmers voted to give their go-ahead. Councillors See GREENLANE, Page 3
