Mooove in Crew By Elaine Lee

On September of the 21 and of the 22, Swarming flocks of freshmen invaded University of California, Davis as they prepared to move into the on campus dormitories. This is the untold story of all the brave men, women, and children who risked their lives to ensure the safety and well-being of all the immigrating freshman who embarked on their college journey. These people are known as…the Moove-In Crew. Day 1: It was fairly chilly morning. We approached the Student Service Center to receive our shirts and our assignments. My friend and I were helping out with carrying baggage at Tercero and we were having a great time…until it started to rain. Joy and happiness arose among the citizens as the sky showered the Earth with its’ heavenly blessing. Just kidding, it caught everyone by surprise. Panic arose as parents and students worked to cover the precious belongings to make sure it would withstand the pouring rain on their treacherous journey to the great indoors. Volunteers help carry some of the soaking items, shielding them with their bodies and protecting it with their lives. It was a day filled with adventure and excitement that was well rewarded with good free DC food to nourish the hard-working warriors. It was a good day. Day 2: it is another chilly morning. I go to Savemart to wait for my friend to pick me up. Ehh, he is 15 minutes late. I send a text. Ehh, he’s 30 minutes late. I send another text. 5 minutes later I call him, “Prado I think you’re sleeping so I’m going to go back to my apartment and sleep now…” The End. Just Kidding, he wakes up eventually, calls me and we are one hour late for Moove-In Crew. We check in at the Segunso Service Center, get his shirt and go on our merry way helping out the freshmen move in to the dorms. After a while, I got hungry so we went to eat breakfast at the DC and get the omelets. Afterwards, we helped out a few more people and we were told by our friends about some free stuff that was being given out by Amazon at the ARC. We volunteered as two people at the event, but we soon added four to our numbers. We then invaded the DC for lunch. Afterwards, we worked overtime to help out Moo-ve in Crew volunteers for their afternoon shift. And we went home. That was my Moo-ve in Crew weekend experience. It was fun ^_^
