Founder and Principal Designer Mary Davis Interiors Mary Davis received bachelor’s degrees in comparative history and cultural anthropology from the University of Washington before entering the AAS Interior Design program. Davis cites opportunities she had at Parsons— such as mentoring set designers working on a 2010 New School drama production—that developed her skill in creating cost-effective user-specific design. Davis first gained experience in residential and commercial interiors. She is a certified aging-in-place specialist (CAPS); a central mission of her practice is addressing clients’ changing physical needs. Today Davis focuses on commercial interiors in partnership with Homepolish, an interior design start-up. Of her time at Parsons, Davis says, “I learned to reach outside of my comfort zone to give the best design work for my clients. And that education doesn’t stop after graduation; you have to keep learning to stay competitive and inspired.”
