a message from the
artistic and managing directors
Thank you for joining us as our 2016-2017 season comes to a conclusion with The Gift Horse, a humorous and introspective comedy from nationally-acclaimed playwright Lydia R. Diamond. This heartfelt and funny play absolutely shines with Lydia’s distinctive style and wit and features an amazing cast of Boston-area favorites. Because of the tremendous generosity and support of our patrons, New Rep will wrap up its most successful season to date! Thanks to you we were able to provide a season brimming with powerful productions that triumphantly showcase our theme of PROLOGUE. We heard from so many of you through our talkbacks, Insider Experiences, and in your letters and emails of your respect and appreciation for our work. Without you we could not have accomplished all that we did this season—THANK YOU! If you enjoyed what you saw this year, we invite you to continue the journey with us next season as we showcase the remarkable RESILIENCE of the human spirit. We believe that theatre has the power to shed light in dark times, to illuminate and stimulate thought, and to provide a forum for us to come together as a community in conversation. It is our hope that these plays will inspire and engage audiences as New Repertory Theatre continues to be a place where the vital ideas of our time can be discussed freely and openly. Thank you again for visiting us today. We look forward to seeing you again next season!
