Part 1: The Mission

THE MISSION

WE PREPARE SERVANTS TO WALK WITH CHRIST, PROCLAIM HIS TRUTH, AND FULFILL HIS MISSION.

We’re located strategically in New Orleans, a beautiful and broken city. Our president, Dr. Jamie Dew, says, “We believe that New Orleans is the perfect laboratory for men and women to come to prepare for ministry. In short, if you can do ministry in our city, then you can do ministry anywhere that God puts you.”

Our city is full of contradictions: great poverty and great wealth; tremendous BEAUTY and devastating blight; joyous revelry and violent heartbreak. For more than a century, NOBTS remains a LIGHT in a dark world, and we firmly believe our best days are yet to come. But there is still much to be done and we need your continued prayer and financial support. We prayerfully steward every dollar given to further the gospel message through every student, every class, every program, and every initiative we offer.

WE ARE DEEPLY THANKFUL FOR YOU!
YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN HELPING US FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION.

THE PROVIDENCE FUND:

The Providence Fund is the unrestricted annual fund for the seminary. Meeting our annual Providence Fund goal makes possible a balanced tuition structure while delivering first-class theological training. The students, faculty, and staff rely on the personal support of alumni and friends to remain on track. You can help them by donating to the Providence Fund.

ENDOWMENT:

While annual gifts to unrestricted funds like the Providence Fund are critical to the day-to-day operations of the seminary, our endowment is essential for long-term stability and sustainability. An endowment fund is a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding. Many alumni and friends invest in the future of NOBTS and Leavell College by establishing scholarships as endowments.

Your gifts are greatly appreciated! When you give, you bolster and propel the work of students, faculty, and education programs of NOBTS and Leavell College.

“The education and experience students recieve at NOBTS not only gives them a solid foundation in theology and doctrine, but they also gain experience in the greatest city on the planet for learning and doing ministry. No other seminary in the United States offers educational AND on-the-ground experiences like NOBTS. And giving to the Providence Fund is a tangible way to equip the next generation of leaders who will carry the gospel across the street and around the world.”

“It is time for NOBTS to step up and do the very best she can for the Great Commission. The relaunch of our Global Missions Center, and the new scholarship offerings we are giving are major steps we can take towards that end. It’s my prayer that in the years to come future missionaries will come to prepare on our campus, and that they will then go to the nations.”

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
