COWETA SAMARITAN CLINIC
COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Coweta Samaritan Clinic is a free clinic staffed by volunteers. We offer primary medical care to adults of Coweta County who do not have insurance and are at 200% or less of the federal poverty level. Currently, we have over 900 patients and over 70 volunteers who help at the clinic but, we are in need of additional volunteers who have some medical experience- RN’s, LPN’s, Medical Assistants, Nursing Assistants, etc – anyone who can take a blood pressure, vital signs and is familiar with medical terminology. We also need volunteers who can draw blood. Our clinics are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am until 2pm.We are extremely flexible with our scheduling and volunteer opportunities are available as much or as little as you like. If you or anyone you know might be interested in volunteering at the clinic, please call Ginny Lyles, Volunteer Coordinator, at 770-683-6983.
MAY is our church’s month to volunteer at the Community Food Pantry. Please help support the Food Pantry with your help one day (or more!) this month! Work starts at 9 a.m. every morning (M-F). All volunteers should enter through the front door and sign in. Call 770.683.7705 for more info!

Atlanta Beltline Tour Friday, August 21 | 8:30am – 2:30pm The tour is limited to only 15 people, so hurry and get your name on the list. If we have enough people interested, another tour will be scheduled for another day. The Atlanta BeltLine is not just some whimsical concept that only exists in the minds of planners and the myriad tabs of this website…it is happening right now. It is already a living, breathing part of the fabric of Atlanta and it is impossible to appreciate its importance to our community without experiencing it first-hand. The best way to be “in the know” is to take a tour! Cost: $5 plus lunch money.
• What is an Advance Directive for healthcare? • Why do I need one? • How do I complete one? • What do I do with it after completion? Get answers to these and other questions in an informative and interactive discussion. Sponsored by the Newnan FUMC Stephen Ministry Program

PRESCHOOL NEWS The preschool children presented a painting to the Newnan Police Department in appreciation of their service to our community (picture on p.5). The painting was a collection of the children’s hand prints making a flag of the United States. A plaque was presented to accompany the painting. The painting is hanging in the new Police Department facility. Several officers attended the presentation and each one expressed appreciation for being recognized. We have spots available in several classes for next school year. We have classes for children 3 months of age through Kindergarten. So, if you are interested in enrolling (or know someone else who is), please contact us at 770.253.1237 or nmartin@newnanfumc.org. Also, we have a few spots available in our Summer Enrichment program. The school year has FLOWN by! Our last day will be May 15. It has been a great year full of blessings. Thank you to the preschool staff for your dedication and love for the children, and thank you to our church family for supporting this program. Have a great summer!
