THE NEWLANDS HOUSE GALLERY STORY

Since opening in March 2020 with a tribute to Helmut Newton, the gallery has exhibited some of the world’s greatest artists from the 20th and 21st centuries, including Ron Arad, Joan Miró, Sean Scully, Liliane Tomasko, Julian Opie, Frank Auerbach, Lee Miller, Pablo Picasso, Annie Morris and Idris Khan. Our current exhibition, Eve Arnold: To Know About Women will run until 7 January 2024.

Newlands House Gallery is inspired by the historic association of Petworth and Sussex with great artists, writers and designers from times past. Running in parallel with the exhibitions dedicated to modern and contemporary art, photography and design, the gallery’s events programme provides an enriching series of talks building on the heritage of Petworth and the town’s reputation for excellence in music, literature and antiques.
